Today was a return to a past era. A rustic ground, pathetic home support three changes and POOLS played like the hoof ball of yore. For Willie Boland read Roy Hoof it Hogan - I am surprised todat Boland found it hard to get hold of the ball.

For the first 20 minutes we defended like strangers and here was me thinking Liddle would eventually find his best position at centre hal, well for 20 minutes he struggled, then was good.

Really poor, ball in the air performance. Still the boys have done well to lose a game and still be top.

As for Barnet physical all game & their 5 at the back first half, shut up shop tactics & scrap in midfield really was back to the 1970's & 1980's lower league football at its worst. The winner their only decent bit of play all game. It could have been worse Gibb cleared one of the line and Hatch missed at first half guilt edged header.

This is a poor division I tell you Accrington Easter Monday not quite like a Huddrsfield, Bradford or Brizzle game is it!

..... well the Borers were playing the mighty Watford... mind you, if the Borers were playing Brotton Odd Fellows of the Loftus and Distirict Candle greasers and associated Trades Tuesday League in a behind closed doors 'friendly' at the same time as we walked out at Wembley for the FA Cup ...we'd still get the same old crap coverage....."We reluctantly leave 'Dip your Wick Park' and head over to Wembley where Hartlepool have scored their fifth goal against Chelsea with 7 minutes of the match played and it could be six as barker steps up to take a penalty..... he runs up ,,,,,,,,....... quickly back to 'Dip your Wick Park' where a dog has ran onto the pitch........it's gone now ...er...no, it was a black bag that looked like a dog.... and as the teams prepare to come out for the match let's talk about things Boro...waffle, drone, chunter     "

That would be funny if it wasn't true. Living outside the town means that basically everyone i know supports Boro but me, none of them go to the games yet none of them listen to Cleveland anyway they all listen to that Slaven bloke. So why do they bother to put Bore-r games on when they would surely get more listeners from Pools and Darlow?

And for next weeks rant...

The best is where they used to have full commentary from a local rugby game like Stockton rather than full coverage of Pools or Darlo when they were both playing AWAY from home...

I actually emailed them how they can justify it once and they told me that just as many listeners would want to listen to Stockton Rugby at home as Pools away matches....
