I loves a pork pie I do, the problem is, most are shit, however, I did my shopping in Morrisons this week for a change and behold, pork pie heaven :happy-cheerleaderkid:

From the pie counter, a hand raised pie with onion chutney, it is a taste sensation and 85p to make your tastebuds dance :-D

The best pork pies in Hartlepool are to be purchased from Kinnersley's.

Blyth's butchers in the indoor market runs them a close second.

I like the ones from Martin Knowells, however I had one from the pie bloke outside the Mill House on Saturday before match and was very good.

Frankly I wouldn't eat one even if I could. My neighbour loves them mind and I can see the health benefits :auto-ambulance:

Doesnt you missus make them Kev? I though it would be something she would be able to knock up as you said she likes trying cooking English dishes?

Minced beef, chicken and mushroom with short pastry, aye, Mr Compo. Pork pies are water pastry though and she hasn't has a bash at that yet. A mate is bringing me a family size one from the U in a week or so, so I'll get her to have a go then.

She never got to see the picnic pies in their original form.

Yes mate, and damn decent they were, but we've only got a small electric oven, I can't get a pud tray and they didn't rise to the height we're used to. She found them a bit tasteless but I enjoyed them. :-D

Her scones were good too. clappp
