Trains are crap, crap, crap. Whenever I'm going anywhere I don't fancy driving I use National Express for the following reasons:

They are only ever late for REAL reasons like tailbacks etc, not 'wrong type of snow', 'leaves on the line', 'signalman's strike' etc.

They are ridiculously cheap compared to trains.

Every train I've got on in the last five years always has an unstable looking character on it, so you can't relax like you can on a coach.

Coaches are much better for getting a kip on as they don't stop as often.

They are cleaner and more comfortable.

They are ridiculously cheap compared to trains.

Bus station cafes always tend to be cheaper than railway cafes.

They are ridiculously cheap compared to trains.

Coaches rule!

Cars rule.

You drive at your own pace, you get to play games with other road users, you stop when and where you want to and you get there quicker.

Public transport is bolox. Especially if travelling from Hartlepool.

Plus I know for a fact that nobody has pissed on my car seat. Can you say the same for your train / bus seat?

Some fair points there Ripper. However, when going for a London weekend, I don't want to drive there as it takes too long, you can't park anywhere easily, and when you do leave it anywhere there's a good chance it'll be vandalised.

I travel from Nottingham and coaches still kick the train arse. I have to agree that public transport into/out of Hartlepool is very bad.

If you worry about mucky seats then you'd better stop going in pubs. There's more chance of piss on them than on a coach seat.
