I am starting to look at some of my older pools pics (with view to a photo book) for our 100th year. After all, I have will have been photographing the lads for 25 years by then so now and again I will be asking for a little bit of help.

Image

I know who the five Pools players are.... do you? I think they are playing Blackpool but if it them when was it? This would be too easy for you MAD JOHN wouldn't it? So come on get your thinking caps on for me!

Frank

I know it's an optical illusion but it looks like there's a massive hole in the net.

Paul Dobson, Tony Smith, Phil Linacre(?),I can't make out the other two. That has to be either 84/85/86 time. Blackpool alaways used to beat us as well  Not much has changed there then!!!!

he was a former youth team thing i seem to recall - 82.3
buggered off to guisbro and whitby and signed again march 85 time.

hung around for a couple of years moved to stockton and then got involved in running the Arena in boro - indie fridays dance saturdays - fookin great club 92/3 to about 95/6 - memory fades a touch with dates here.

a nice fella as well

Aye! Sorry 85-86.

Yes, I think thats where he picked up his regrettable penchant for Clubs and associated habits.

maybe maybe but he knew how to run a good club
fridays and saturdays were great nights

saw some good stuff there

white negroes
ocean colour scene
aloof
tricky
zion train
inner city

and lots of others that i'll need reminding about

saw boy george dj there as well!!! :uhoh:

Easy. The Pools players in the photo are Phil Brown (background) Tony Smith (front post) Kevin Dixon (obscured) Dobber (perm!) and.....JOHN GOLLOGLY.

Last game of the 84-85 season, and there was crowd trouble.

Crowd trouble??? There's only about 50 people there!
