I can't think of a better one.

Turner, Newell, Cooper and Scotty want shooting for playing him on the right wing for all those years!

lets not jump the gun here TPP eiffo is a class player and he done extremely well on saturday but he has only scored a few goals this season im not certain without checking but its not enough to class the lad as a cert for a forward spot. my opinion is not meant to demean eiffo as i like the bloke alot and his modesty in everything is even more pleasing.

please dont jump down me throat for my comments i hope eiffo bangs another 10 in this season and gets a new contract

its all a matter of opinion of course.

That's the smallest 10 I have ever seen.

I wasn't alive for half of them so can't comment but yesterdays were better than Hughs and Boydys if you ask me

To be fair to Cooper, he did have Boydy and Porter, both at the top of their game at the time. I doubt anyone would have had Williams in before them two.

I remember Daltons though proper goal that though, started with jackie honour heading off his own line I think, even tyne tees had it as goal of the season. jackies goal at maidstone was also a great goal,if only he'd had a left foot!!
but eiffions in terms of skill and importance of the occassion and what it might mean for our season takes it for me

Robertson against Luton.

Watson scoring from the dugout against Halifax away.

Gabbers against Stockport away, took on everyone.

Williams against Darlo yesterday.

...still has to be Robertson. Nothing can match that power and accuracy, especially through a crowded box. It was a kick and pray but still, I saw it with my own eyes, and couldn't cheer for about 3 seconds - proper stunned.

The best Pools goal ever has yet to be scored.

It will be the one which finally wins us some silverware.

It may happen this season.

It may not be a stunning strike.

It could be scored by any of the Pools team, or be an own goal.

It can be a diving header, a tap-in, a slice, a corner that floats over the keeper, or a free kick taken by Dimi in his own half that takes a nice bounce.

THAT will be the best Pools goal ever.

As good as Hugh's goal was, i dont think it was better than Eifions..

The technique was perfect.

To be able to bring a moving ball in mid air under control the way he did, as anyone who's played footy (which is probably all of us!) will tell you, is a VERY difficult skill, to then do what came next , is quite frankly, brilliant

HOWEVER, better than Boyds against Wednesday? I'm not sure!

Brian Honour v Maidstone (played at Dartford). Having said that, the sense of occasion added to the brilliance of Eifion's.

I agree, Hughs was a superb strike and certainly in the top 10 but it was sitting up perfectly for him. Efo still had an awful lot to yesterday and he did it with so much ease. rolf

Eifion should and will get a new contract. The difference is that he now has Barker to give him the space he needs. He even seems to have found his first touch - amazing what a bit of confidence can do for you.

On the subject in hand, its certainly one of the best Ive seen from a Pools player but Boydy's third against Sheff Weds is top of my list.

i think why effions goal is so good is that he's rolling back the years and is finding form after being placed back up front and as you say mr I barker is now taking his knocks for him - effion had to put up with being booted from pillar to post from day one - boyds goal against sheff wed was truly a great but from a young confident player at the top of his game and he had that season scored some sublime goals.

Quality goal, absolute quality. His first wasn't too bad either given the angle he scored from.

Boydy's against Sheff Wed was the best ive ever seen in 28 years as a Pools fan though,he sat defenders on their arse and had absolutely no right at all to chip the keeper like he did, but he did.

Boydy's first ever goal against Shrewsbury was well worth the 90 minute wait wasn't it?

Brian Honour's against Stockport was a bimler as well

The goal by Williams has to be up there. Whether it was as good as Cullens at Swansea, Baker against Carlisle, Hendo against York, Boyd against Sheff Wed or Watson against Exeter/Hull is open to debate..........

It was better than Hugh's. Less spectacular perhaps but watch it again (it's still on Pools World). First he had to beat off his own player to get a sniff at the ball, then he had to look up and spot the opening, and then he had to get the power on it with next to no run-up.

Hugh had the ball and the goal in his sights before it even landed near him, was unchallenged, and was able to time his run up perfectly.

Me as well, it was stunning, only word I can tag it with. Mind I reckon the chorus of 'fookin' 'ell!!' was the loudest chant of the night as it came from all four sides of the ground simultaneously!!

Best goal ever?? Well, it's like perfume and music isn't it?? Smells different to everyone. Very subjective. Maybe we should talk about personal favourites rather than best evers.

I mean, have you ever seen a Pools goal that you didn't enjoy?? confised

Why has no-one mentioned Baker's overhead kick (from outside the box) against Stockport when he scored 4? Sublime.

That was a classic performance from my all time fave Pools forward

I was bang in line when he connected with it and from memory, after he scored, he picked a little kid up from the crowd and the following home match presented him with the picture

what about ritchies earlier in the season into the bottom left hand corner away from home somewhere that swerved all over the place and stayed at a constant 6 inches above the ground.

when hughs goal went in i shouted so loud i lost my voice for a fortnight and had to have time off work as i could not speak.........

its all a matter of opinion isnt it? effys goal yesterday was very good. believe it or not i scored one very similar at paddington rec in maida vale about 15 years ago. a long ball came over my shoulder i stretched out a foot , the ball sat up on the half volley and i hit it from about 25 yards. it could have gone anywhere but it did much the same as effys. it looked great but it actually was pretty instinctive, and certainly required a lot less effort than one i scored for wingate against peterlee when i was about 19 where i beat 5 men and the keeper having started on the half way line. i couldnt have done that again in a million years.

thats nothing!
you should've seen the goal I scored yesterday - yes yesterday!!
I was in goal, plucked a cross out of the aoir, rolled it to myself on the edge of the box and beat the 1st man, decided I'd showboat a bit and flicked it over the next mans head brought it down on my thigh and swivelled past the 3rd in one gracefull movemnet.
Moving into the oppo's half I bounced a two-footed tackle off without a grimace - as i'm built like a brick shithouse and stunningly handsome to boot - swiftly I beat 3 more defenders and coolly rounded the keeper slotting into an empty net! and get this! I had no teammates to celebrate with as I am a one man team! and the fact that none of my opponants were above the age of ten is completely irrelevant, cos I am great me!

then went down the Leg Iron won me singles AND doubles, then slaughtered mine and taxi Johns oppo's in the doubles tournament moving us into the quarter finals!! in fact I remained unbeaten all night long!

came home and triumphantly chippolata'd the missus for 4 hours solid!

ha! beat that!!

[oh yeah, and tonight I'm gonna show the chumps from New Marske how to bat AND bowl and tomorrow my new singles gonna be played on Radio1 and Mike Hardings gonna announce me as the folk singer of the year!]

Ah the one at Accrington which started this run. The camera angle was perfect for that goal and only the week before on football AM they were asking if they could get the cameras up higher so we could get a better view.

Didn't Eifion also score a cracker that day as well?
