I thought £2mill would have been summit more realistic, with add ons.

Hardly proven at any other level but league one.

Huddersfield must be laughing.

It's out of control if you ask me. Financially unsustainable in the long run, and only a matter of time before a Premiership club does a Rangers surely ?

I cant wait for it too happen, wouldn't wish it on any fans but until it does then it will get more and more out of hand.

Anybody read that case about the pub landlady down south who was using a Greek satellite TV card, got hauled to court and won??

That could be the beginning of the end.

£35,000 a week as well.

Utter madness for a transfer between two Championship clubs, mind you utter madness and Blackburn Rovers go hand in hand these days

I just can't understand how mediocre, middle of the road, inconsistent footballers can demand £35,000+ a week and nobody bats an eyelid anymore.

That's more than your average 'normalite' picks up in a YEAR!!

I know it's pro rata to the profitability of the game and it makes me sound like a bitter old git to prattle on, but then, having said that, is the game as profitable as these people say anymore?

It's obvious to me that very few clubs actually make a profit these days...

Thing with Blackburn is they have cash plus parachute payments from the premiership and getting back at the 1st hurdle is huge financially.

So far they have signed the likes of Danny Murphy and nuno Gomes. Hugely experienced players but goals win games so 8m for the most prolific marksmen outside the prem could prove an absolute bargain. He has scored a couple already this season plus netted an international goal.

Can't really compare fee with jelavic as rangers needed the cash and the standard in the spl is poor and the best players rarely fetch over 10m and transfer fees in England are insane, Carroll 35m is an example of this

Blackburn will be administration in the next two years if they don't go up this season. The fee and wages involved reflects the desperation to do that.

Even next season!!

Took big risks in the Market like, Murphy an Gomes will Probs both be on more. Will it pay off????? I think so. Can see Rhodes being a big success and Blackburn winning the league. Only time will tell though and fans arnt exactly behind the board and manager so need results quickly or they could easily be another Leeds/Pompey

I can't see them going up with Steve Kean in charge. He'll probably get sacked the first time they have a bad run and I can't see a decent manager working for these Venkey's characters.

On paper they have the players to do it though.
