I think everybody just needs to relax a bit... Ok I wasn't there tonight and by the sounds of it we didn't play well at all, but people talking about relegation, refund on season tickets etc... banghead

Hasn't been the best of starts but this is only the 2nd league game out of 46! Cooper isn't daft and i'm sure he is doing everything he can to improve the situation

In Cooper we trust!

The spineless bastards.

I'll have to make do with painting 'Scooty Out' on the wall opposite. Now where's my emulsion brush.

The worrying thing is cooper no longer seems able to see what the problems are that all the fans can see.

I don't think you can say that really, he's been allowed to make thre singings and according to Nick Loughlin's tweets he's never seen him as angry as he is tonight.

We're two League games in, let's see if he can get a reaction and make positive changes.

...I reckon he can.......if we start the season badly it will force the owners to free up some much needed funds for some fresh blood, whereas if we started okay they'll be happy to settle for what we have.

Three has 2 e's!!!

If only there wasn't a game tonight mr I!

Sadly there was though and yet again we were clueless. We stayed in
League 1 last year after a great start, 19 pts after 9 games. That ain't Gona happen this season so were are those precious points comimg from. I'm worried that's all I'm Gona say!

I dont see what being angry has to do with anything?

He couldnt see that we needed pace and creativiy in centre mid. Instead he signed a slower, poorer version of Murray/Liddle.

He cant see 4-4-2 doesnt work with Sweeney in the middle. He cant seem to see we need players who can control and pass a football, he also cant seem to see we need wingers to cross a ball on their correct foot to our biggest threat.

Coopers best trait was being able to see exactly what the fans could, he seems to have lost the ability at the moment.

It appears Coopers resources are limited at the minute and he is trying different combinations, we don't know whats going on at the club i.e No funds for players etc... But the point of this post is for people not to get so worked up about it.

What confuses me is if we are playing with big Steve Howard up top, then why do we want wingers cutting in. The only highlight from the Crewe game was Franks crossing the ball in. Playing him out-wide left wont help Howard as any cross into the box, Howard will have to work harder to get to it. That's just the way I see it.

Murray came on at half time tonight, a game and a half into the season so he's hardly been discarded. Cooper has said he likes 4-4-2 he's stuck by his guns and tried it. But in fairness he's admitted defeat at half time tonight and changed to our more familiar system away from home. With the players we have I reckon it could work at home as well. He's said himself tonight he's not going to stick by something or someone that isn't working when his it's his head on the block.

I'm concerned!
The defence is a concern as is the midfield.
We bang on about lack of goals but it can't be helped if the service isn't there. It also cant help if your centre backs aren't picking up on the opposition in the 6 yard box, or if the midfield is being constantly overrun.
Cooper must have a massive headache on where to start first but thats what he's paid to do and if the results aren't going our way coupled with sub standard performances i'll be one of the first to say that we need a change.

Totally agree - the selections are baffling, I don't play Football Manager but I bet the selections and tactics we are playing wouldn't even work on that.....

Naming his starting eleven for it a fortnight before the first game was a mistake in hindsight. As was not experimenting a bit more with the rest of the squad in the friendlies.

If its right that Howard was taking corners tonight, you genuinely have to wonder what the fuck is going on.

The fact I like Cooper and rate him one of the top 3 managers in the time I've been supporting the club, doesn't make him immune from criticism, as people have probably gathered by now.

He desperately, desperately, needs a couple of results, and he's lucky that the next 3 fixtures give him a great opportunity to get them. If he doesn't get them ,I think he will be gone by Halloween.

Spot on - although I think all the fixtures look tough at the moment...

No overr-reaction from me, I expected us to be poor this season and have a very tough start-we are out of the cup, have scored none in 3 games and have a single point.
So we are actually a point ahead of what I expected

I hope that he's referring to the coaching staff.

I'm not sure they would though. Humphreys is still in the squad so I don't imagine he would be shown the door if Cooper was sacked. I personally don't think Cooper will get sacked but he is - at the moment - part of the problem. I think he will abandon this 4-4-2 with Sweeney and Walton as it clearly isn't working and no-one can see any positives and hopefully because of that results will improve.
