Crisis-hit Portsmouth had to field a near-youth team as they lost in the League Cup first round to Plymouth.
Pompey, who had to release all senior players to avoid liquidation, fielded nine teenagers in their starting XI.
First-team coach Ashley Westwood, 35, then went off injured to leave their entire outfield side aged 18 or under.
Plymouth's Johnny Gorman scored from a tight angle, Paris Cowan-Hall headed a second goal from close range and Nick Chadwick pounced for a third late on.
Seven of Portsmouth's team had not played a senior match before and Pompey manager Michael Appleton could only name three substitutes, including 15-year-old Jack Whatmaugh.

I still reckon they will struggle this year massively, not a very attracting club to attract players

In another report it states the administrators fees were £1:85 Million. They went into administration on February 17th, so thats 6 months................ not bad money.

When I was involved, an Administrator or Receiver would claim 1200 an hour 'plus disbursements,' which is basically an expense claim. That was six years ago. This is why the creditors basically get nowt. The claim almost exactly matches the bank balance and/or the selling price of the company. The accountant will make sure of that. This is why bidders drop out of potential sales.

This also why the Darlo supporters were extremely naive to part with their cash, when the end result was the same except the Receiver got richer. That money never went anywhere near the club.

The Plymouth fans must have had their tongues lodged firmly in their cheeks - only this time last year they fielded a team or teenagers and local strays to get by...

I agree with that like, could have done with getting them straight away. If They survive league 1 I'll be amazed

Still will be lumping into the 1/2 like, am thinking a double with man utd but I have a slight doubt. Could even lob man city in aswell like to boost it up further

10/11 now. Still a good bet like. Surely you can't assemble a full team on a Thursday afternoon and expect a win on the Saturday.

They've had that bunch of players on trial all summer playing their friendlies (including a 3-0 win over Bolton). Not as a slap dash at it looks.

Yeah i think best avoided, imagine will be some atmopshere at their place as as always the fans will get right behind them in hard times and these signings have been playing their friendlies and went on tour with them to Spain so will know each other fairly well. Plus Izale Mcleod is class.

Did all right at New York Red Bulls, 9 goals in 23, only left because they wouldn't give the thug a new visa.
