No they wont, I cant remember any past opening or closing ceremonies, but I can remember a lot of the various events that were in those Olympics. This Olympics will be remembered for the fantastic sporting events, just like all the previous ones !!

Ladies and Gentlemen, you have been watching the Victor Meldrew commentary of the Olympic closing ceremony.

More performances can be heard from the Millhouse Terrace every other Saturday.

Surely this handover to Brazil should include the shooting of a electrician.

No Queen, Prince Phillip, Princes Charles, Andrew, Edward, William or Princess Anne - only a tearful looking Henry? The IOC gadgie opens his speech "Your Majesty". Guess we'll find out what's happened tomorrow or maybe they just saw the running order.

I enjoyed seeing the Spice Girls hanging on to the giant zimmer frames that were fixed on top of the cars.

A few pop acts seem to be overlooked (The Stones, Led Zep). Even if they couldn't appear in person they should have been able to do some sort of video montage.

Apart from that it was a good ceremony.

I hear Jimmy Page was gutted not to be asked back.

If I'm really honest with myself, I have to say that closing ceremony was shite.

Two good things about the Olympics being over: no more incessant Chariots of Fire and no more hour long speeches from a snooty former middle distance runner.

After Pete Townsend's performance I'm guessing Gary Glitter couldn't make it?

When is that 'book' he was 'researching' by looking at kiddy porn coming out?

Yes, I always think that too. What WAS the outcome of all that? Presumably he got away with it?

I do like The Who 1967 onwards though.

I think most of what he had to say was demonstrated in 'Tommy.' sctatchinghead

Which I understand is called previous mitigation.

Well i thought theo lympis from the opening to the closing ceremony was fantastic.

I didnt expect the music, in te closing ceremony, to be a list of my favourites, yet I still enjoyed it.

Oh, and try telling the athletes that it was shit.

They looked like they loved every minute of it to me.

You lot are hilarious. I would like to see what any of you would have come up with.

The olympics actauuly made me feel proud. That will disapear when the footy starts, and our drunken players and fighting fans get us all back to reality.

I think the BBC missed a trick there, and could have used that name, as the musical maestro for the games.
