What an athlete this guy is!

Arrogant but has every right to be!

I think he is a bounder.

Hopefully he will trip over his own arms one of these days.

I personally love arrogance, provided they have the capabilities to back them up. Clough, Bolt and Cantona are three of my favourite people who have been involved in sport.

Agree...Some might not agree but imo Noel Gallagher falls into the same catergory

I bet he's devastated.

Showman is the correct word, people pay to watch him people switch over the TV to watch him. He's an amazing sportsman one of the greatest ever.

In most walks of life, to be the best you have to have arrogance as well as talent.

Self belief and arrogance are not the same thing.

Muhammad Ali is the only greater showman, Grave probablly wouldd think "The Greatest' was a bounder as well.

The word arrogance has been used in this thread a lot, I don't think Bolt is arrogant. For example seconds before the race tonight he was having banter with the lane official, surely an arrogant person would be dismissive of such an individual?

He's extremely self confident but that lazily get's confused as arrogance.

I would say his arrogance his only better towards his competitors. He knows he is better than them, and often simply says that he is faster than them. He doesn't treat anybody unpleasantly but I don't think one needs to to be considered arrogant. I'm sure he has unparalleled self confidence, as any double world record holder should, but that doesn't mean he isn't arrogant as well.

Well....... He is quoted as saying...

Now if that's not arrogance what is???

I'm sure though you will manage to sprout some shite to disagree

He's just defended his medals in the 100m and 200m, and become the first ever athlete too do that, i think he's earned the right to be a bit arrogent and i dont begrudge him that at all, as i certainly would be.

He is a legend and of course he can say what he wants, I would aswell. Ali was arrogant as fuck and until now was considered the greatest. Bolt is the most recognisable sportsmen in the world, an inspiration to children and a model professional. I hope he repeats his successes in rio unless of course there's a good enough brit in the race.

I like justified arrogance. Bit I think this is a case of arrogance and not self belief.. But he's the fastest man on earth so its sound

If you want arrogant look at the american sprinters.

The Americans are arrogant in a different way. Bolt is but is extremely likeable however the Americans are and are considered not nice people. The way bolt is, he has the crowd in his hands and is amazing to watch. He always has a big Smile on his face were as the Americans always look very serious when going about there business. Bolt is a much needed breath of fresh air for world athletics and long may it continue

Isn't he those things? Isn't he telling the truth??

He's just achieved something nobody in the history if the Olympics ever has and in the two events he competes in he's ran them both quicker than anyone ever has.

When someone like Joey Barton says "form in temporary class is permanent" I'd say it's more arrogant and lacking in self awareness than an individual like Bolt who actually backs up, and more what he says.

It's almost as good as Richies Birthmark accusing other people of spouting shite on a the bunker!

I'm not saying he's arrogant at all! That's my whole point, arrogance is a negative, Bolt's self belief and confidence drive him forward and help him be what he is. Arrogance would probably work against him. Only one person has gone down the 'route' you speak of, apparently because it's different to what he thinks it's 'shite' and 'drivel'.

It's justified arrogance though, he obviously does have alot of self belief but sometimes the way he comes across in the media is arrogant
