There but for the grace of God eh? I remember going to Valley Parade for a Pools game in the 70s. I was with my girlfriend so decided to sit in the seats - climbed a narrow wooden staircase to get into the seating block. At half time some Bradford fans came up the stairs because they'd spotted a couple of Poolies wearing colours. The Pool lads had to vault over the front of the stand to get away - there didn't seem to be any other way out.

I remeber thinking "f*!k this isn't very safe", but of course I was thinking about the chances of getting a battering, not the fire risk.

That wasn't unusual in the seventies. I remember Bradford City getting a terrible paggering off the West View lot on Clarence Road around that time but.....

Cut to the chase Mr Father, did she or didn't she?? :-D
