If he's overweight again he probably won't even be took to Holland as some form of punishment Mr Cooper doesn't mess about. Made to train over here with the youths and out of the first team picture. thats just me putting 2+2 together and coming up with what I would like to see.

Pools squad for Holland has no place for ex #SAFC midfielder Nathan Luscombe - doubts over fitness remain. Shame because talent is there.

Scott is 16 year old goalkeeper, Rafferty has injury and Wignall is 17 year old striker.

Quote from Cooper on both

"Dominic (Scott) is a good young keeper and it will be a brilliant experience for him, while Ben (Wignall) impressed me at the end of last season and has been catching the eye again since we returned."

It's difficult to understand how this is happening, how many young kids would be desperate for the opportunity he's got.

There maybe something which we all don't know, but if it's simply a case of him not trying hard enough, it's just not acceptable.

How can a professional sportsman be lacking 'fitness' for so long?

Apt description of him you watch that clip of him and Henderson then you look at how their careers have gone in totally opposite directions. Henderson spends the summer in Poland and Ukraine in the England squad and Luscombe can't even make a pre season tour with Pools. So looks like one less player to put in the team when the season starts and we all try to pre guess the team for each game.

And if we have option of another season I can well see that not being took up unless Luscombe decides to knuckle down and try to save his career, he not even reached 23 yet has he.

For those who haven't seen his skill school

the portly players always have to work harder, the likes of rooney n carroll are just naturally big lads n they really have to work to stay fit, obviously luscombe isnt working hard enough.

Seriously, how thick can one lad be?

He's going to get a shock soon when he has go out and get a proper job, the penny might drop then about how stupid he's been wasting an opportunity that is many peoples idea of a dream. If he doesn't then he certainly will in later life.

Pools must be fuming, they could have easily sacked him last summer or after his 'eat burgers' interview but they gave him a chance. Nice of him to repay them for that faith. Loads of people have 'talent' unfortunately it takes more than that.

I'm assuming he must have been given pre-season targets and programmes to follow, he has came back and obviously ignored it all, he should be fined or sacked. He has been given an opportunity near enough everybody on here dreams about doing, getting paid to play football. If he can't even make the pre-season squad then whats the point in keeping him, get shot I say and allow Darlington 1883 1999 2007 RIP Railway Brick Train Farmyard Orient United Locomotive FC have him

Well it obviously his fitness/shape thats the reason for him not being taken.

If you read the piece on the official site with regards to the squad for the tour it mentions Rafferty(knee injury), Lewis Hawkins(foot) as reasons they not going. Luscombe doesn't even get a mention of why he not being taken over to Holland.

I reckon MJ might be pretty close to the mark.

It's not even like it's hard work to get yourself from half decent fitness to fully fit. A couple of hours a day on a training plan over the summer and a decent diet and you're set. He can't be arsed one bit, it wouldn't surprise me if the drink has got hold of him in some way.

A total waste but we need to free his wage up ASAP.

true , it was tongue in cheek statement towards you, the fact is you would have probably given up the "bad lifestyle" if a club came in for you and you had a chance to make it.

If you aren't determined enough to be allowed ON a pitch, you certainly have no determination during a GAME!

Get rid. Now.

I recall Jordan Richards "bunch of five" questions on Pool Player, when asked where he was going after the interview? Answer me and Nathan Luscombe going to Nandos. That's Luscombe getting fighting fit for pre-season. Absolute joke, a wasted talent. Get rid now COOPER

The only reason Luscombe is not going to Holland is because he is afraid of flying and not worth it if going by boat, as they will be on the way back by the time he docks, this is a FACT, he told me today, just after consuming his 3rd Parmo :shhh:

Employment law stipulates procedures for dismissal including written warnings etc.

From what I've read on here it's all speculation, i.e. Pools have said nowt officially, so there is a chance (albeit small) that people are jumping to conclusions.

From past history like I wouldn't expect Pools to say owt if wheels are in motion behind the scenes so I guess everything will become clearer in the next couple of weeks when either he is turning out in pre-season friendlies or is no longer at the club.

Totally agree with that but IF Pools could prove breach of contract at least it would mean they could fine him at least. I know it would only be a maximum of 2 weeks wages but its a step towards following any lay down procedure.

Though your right it is all speculation but as I said in a previous post on this thread, the silence from Pools is deafening. Other players who aren't travelling to Holland have been named and reasons given for not going (injuries). But, and this is only my opinion and speculation the lack of information(and that is Pools right, and I'm not asking them to say anything) makes it look like any speculation the fans are coming up with has some form of basis.

I think pretty much everyone on here has given up on him, and thats unusual for this site. I just cant see a way back for him. It must be pretty embarassing for him even turning up for training because there's some strong characters in the dressing room. I'm just sort of forgetting he's at the club anymore.
