What do people think???

Don't think he'll play so why bother signing him?

I think it's a case of Wilson making sure he's got that extra little bit of experienced cover until the end of the season. He won't be a regular, I doubt he'll even start games - but could be a useful option off the bench and if we have an injury crisis between now and the end of the season there's an old head that can step in. In some ways it reminds me of the signing of Neil Aspin - not for the long term, but a wise head to help out if needed.

I dont get it from a playing perspective. Wasn't he backheeled by Darlington? If he's not good enough for them then surely he's not good enough for Pools.

The only reason I can come up with is the steadying influence he can bring to the younger players. Still I trust DW to make good decisions so fair enough.

you can only play in two reserve games as a 'trialist'. after that a club has to sign you up on a proper deal or get rid.

Didn't he score nine goals in 17 starts and 2 subs for Darlo?

I saw most of Higgy's games for Darlo that season. Early doors he was superb. His vision, passing and finishing sublime. He was however, constantly injured and missed lots of games.

he's as fit as a fiddle apparently and will make plenty of chances for forwards even if only gets 15mins a game
