Looks like he's off to Gateshead, I'm sure he will do really well there.

I've got it on video, but have never watched any of it.

Yeah some great memories Adam brought to the club over past years and we have to remember he was a product of our own youth system. His return to the club admittedly wasn't the greatest and that has scared some of the short vision supporters amongst us.

A legend in his own wright after all currently sitting as 7th / 8th top goalscorer of the club (joint with the legend Joe Allon). Like I say a legend in his own right, but the past season has got some knocking that.

Good Luck Adam

whatever he was like the past couple of seasons... nobody can take away the fact that he was one of the best, most skilful forwards any of us have ever, and are ever likely to see, in a Hartlepool shirt

and he made the club a few quid as well

Good luck Adam

Still find it bizzare that a game changing moment with a penalty and a red card only ever got 1 replay.

What a fukking brilliant player Boyd was? At his best he was skillful, strong, determined and some of his finishes were sublime. It was such a shame that he had the best years of his career taken from him by an awful infection. I think it's easy for people to under-estimate the seriousness of the type of infection that he contracted but people have died or been left disabled from blood infections.

A fit Adam Boyd in the Scotty season and we would never have been relegated and without wanting to disrespect Luton Adam would have got a more lucrative move.

Over the years people have been very quick to judge him and criticise him - but how many of us are perfect and reached our full potential in our 20's?

On reflection it has been a pleasure watching him and most of us would probably consider half of what he achieved for Pools as living the dream. Like has been said he is a Pools legend .....

Unbelievable player in his prime, untouchable at times, best strike partnership i've seen him and Porter.

Just watched a few bits of cardiff... We played some brilliant attacking fast football back then.

Pools may never get a better strike force than Boyd and Porter - together they were utterly brilliant, and that is not an overstatement. They really were that good

am I dreaming or did he score on his debut against Shrewsbury sctatchinghead

I remember him coming on as sub/about 10 mins to go when the score was nil nil (terrible game by the way) and he scored from a very tight angle into the rink end. Not sure it was his debut though sctatchinghead

Adam was the best player I have ever seen at the vic and I think the best we will see for a very long time.

The boo boys got on his back this time and I have had many a strong word with so called fans booing him.

I have always said with an extra yard of pace adam would have definitely been in the premiership.

Amazing talent who will always be my favourite player.

Thanks for the 500k, thanks for your goals, thanks for making me as excited as a five year old on Christmas day. Good luck Adam.

They were awesome, there won't have been many better in the third tier of football over the years. They complimented each other superbly, both knew where the back of the net is and were both at the peaks of their career.

When Boydie went on that run at the end of the 03/04 season where he scored 12 in 10 (I think), he was unstoppable, everything he touched turned to gold, we were a goal up before the game had even happened. That header against Swindon to clinch the play-off spot was one of my highlights of watching Pools, the place went absolutely ballistic and it was a bullet header.

It's a shame that Boydie has never reached his full potential and the last two seasons have been depressing to watch, when it looked like he'd sorted his act out at the start of the season I thought he'd turned over a new leaf but quite frankly he's been shyte for the past six months. Whether that's his own fault, injuries or the players around him we'll never know but it's been grim viewing from my point of view. Had Cooper been here when he was playing well earlier in the year then perhaps he'd have carried on his progress, who knows.

I wish him luck wherever he ends up going, he's provided more good memories than bad ones

My favourite ever player until Porter took over him in his last season with us. Simply stunning at creating space and clever with his touch and movement. Porter was his ultimate partner in crime, people talk about the Cole | Yorke partnership but Boyd and Porter were just as good (relatively speaking!)

TPP sums it up perfectly, when he was at his peak, he was unstoppable.

absolute shame adams pools career ended as it did, in his first stint he was certainly one of the best forwards i have seen at pools totally different to the likes of joe allon and paul baker adam used skill more than being a bustling centre forward in the newton mold, certainly provided some lifelong memories like the sublime 3rd goal against sheff wed that rain soaked night at the vic, as has been mentioned the goal against shrewsbury were he refused to give the ball up and got it on the line and scored, his interchanges with joel lots to remember him by. hopefully he will get fixed up and enjoy the twilight of his career.

The third against Sheff Wed was unbelievable, but the 'Turley retribution' was very good to watch. At their place in front of us chased the ball down, on a 50-50 with the turd, took the ball off him and slotted home. Dont think Turley ever got over that.

One of the best live goals I've ever seen his 3rd against Sheff Wed, pure class.

Always remember it was on football AM the next day... "Lovejoy ohhhhh"
