Piece mentioned as Hartlepool council support local team and hand over the ground to the club.

It's very important this all gets kept to the forefront. For example, it's BBC Tees "Fans Forum" tonight. They accept phone calls, emails etc.

Phil, are the club angry at the way the Mail phrased the question on its website? Cos I am... the way the question is asked it basically alludes to the club getting a £625k asset for nowt and do people agree with it. Nothing about all the other relevant stuff of gross income to the town , community work etc.
Fucking arseholes!!!!!

Aye..I noticed that too (Mind you, the vote was something like 500 for, 32 against at Final Score time!). I would suggest KH's Programme Notes on Saturday would be an early indicator of the Club's views!

Pools need to be shouting this from the rooftops, we can do our bit through the forums and by writing to the mail etc.

Looking at that development plan on the other thread it would be a bit odd if they didn't give the club the ground- looks like they're planning to give the whole area around it away in the hope of private redeveloment kick starting wider regeneration. If they're happy to trust Gus Robinson Developments to do a decent job that benefits the town as well as making them a few quid then trying to screw money out of a company that have already put millions in, already boost the local economy by millions and seem happy to keep doing that at their own expense would be insane.

great stuff... the council and the sneering brigade must bow down finally to clear support for this to happen now... in the test for season ticket sales the fans supported the club, in the on-line poll (despite its shocking wording) the fans supported the club, now it should only need that final deluge of e-mails and that should be that.

And another thing, I hope the club make it clear to the Mail that any maverick, one-off type of letter printed in the Mail about not giving the ground to the club is not representative and should not be published. We know how journalists are inherent weasel-faced scumbags given the opportunity

Can you change that to 'the journalists on the Mail are inherent weasel-faced scumbags given the opportunity' please?

Fair enough, they're inherently weasel-faced as well, but lots of other journalists have slightly chubby, angelic faces that don't look too bad for their age.

For every negative letter, we, the supporters of HUFC/IOR, need to counter with TEN positive ones. It's as easy as that, fight fire with fire. I've already e-mailed Rob Smith at HBC AND had a positive reply. I'll also be ringing BBC Tees tonight (01642 225511) as it's their "Fans Forum" open-house thingy tonight.

They would genuinely prefer 30 grand a year to letting IOR provide the 'critical mass' the cabinet document talks about needing to trigger the regeneration. If it works an area that is a liability would generate income from taxes, charges etc. Even if it wasn't a complete success it would still save the money the council spend on maintaining the area. Handing over the land is an incredibly low risk strategy for the council when IOR are exactly what they need to spearhead the private investment in the area.

Or to put it another way- concurring with Spender, they really are hardcore doyles.

Bob, I can't get involved with HTH, I'd top myself if I was registered on there. I've read the thread though, one of them is banging on about the jobs not being full time. The independent study reported

310 individuals are employed by HUFC, that is the equivalent of 112 full time employees.

Hartlepool as a town gains 185 full time employees off the back of HUFC, and £5.43 million in gross value added.

Who are some of these absolute know nowt fuck wits?

Fred c

"I can't believe IOR expect to get the ground for nowt"

Didn't IOR have an offer of £300,000 rejected for it!?

I'm presuming the 'c' is for cock.

I'm sure their are some reasonable people involved in local politics, I'm not sure how these people deal on a day to day basis with such aresholes without resorting to violence?

Honestly I wouldn't last five minutes on that forum, I think I'll e mail the moderator to ask him to never let me register

MK 1;

"Look mate if you want to focus your entire life around a 90 minute kickaround once a week then you pay the full f*cking price and stop asking me to subsidise you.
Pay your way or move on."

banghead banghead banghead banghead

The council acquired the ground for £10,000 years ago, IOR have been paying £18,000 a year for 15 years. Taking into account a slight increase in rent that means the council have raked in around a quarter of a million pounds from IOR alone for a piece of land they paid nowhere 'full price' for and has no economic value to them in reality, it's in a run down area of town in need of investment. Jesus on supposedly some of the most economic valuable land in the Town , the marina area, we have a ridiculous amount of derelict buildings (Garlands, Focus, Jacksons Landing). Don't these spactards see the bigger picture?

Oh and I'd love to ask this nimlet how the fuck HE would be subsidising Pools? I wish not nice people like him would 'move on'.

this is what I referred to yesterday - the mavericks who can stop this going through. If these people are on the council and can influence the vote - they need putting in their place
We need to publish their names so they can be tortured on a personal and professional level
I'm up for a spot of terrorism!!!!

What a waste of time it was looking on there. The thought of them if ever holding the reigns of anything in this town fill me with dread.. Let them chunter to themselves as long as the town carries on as normal and takes no notice of those weirdo's everything will be good.. KEEP THE FAITH and promote the deal!

I'd guess 99% hate footy and spends their Saturday's being dragged round asda by their other half before retiring home to a cup of tea and a fresh cream scone.
What a life:)

just had a quick look on there. jesus christ, its depressing. are these supposed to be the hartlepool political elite ? talk about pompous, inward-looking arrogance. these people really are the mouth-breathing trainspotters that stink of wet dog that you dread getting button-holed by. the only real suprise was that christine blakey's name cropped up so late on the thread.

i took a dump the other day, and she appeared in the mail criticising the way i'd wiped. self-promotion at its very best/worst.

we're honestly wasting our time even trying to engage with them. leave them to rearranging the tins in their cupboards so that all the labels are at the front, dusting their knick-knacks and shouting at the telly.

losers one and all.

What a waste of time that was, managed to get to the end of the second page, but thought I had better come back to the sanity of The Bunker, before I decided to slash my wrists.

Like Muttley I got to the end of the first page, then decided my time would be better spent re-arranging my dvd collection. I have changed them from alphabetical to the date released.

Interesting eh?

I CAN take comfort from the knowledge that no one, or anything on that forum, will have any influence whatsoever on my life, or that of HUFC.

If any prospective councillor does happen to knock on my door though, they had better have two answers for me.

Yes, to do you support this venture re Pools.

No, of course I dont tread that knuckle dragging forum.

Anyway, going to enjoy posting these next couple of days, as from Monday, I will be back working.....in an office  I suspect posting on these forums will have to be suspended....at least until I suss them out.

Havent had to that for years. I bet most of that HTH forum dont work though. They cant. Surely?
