Trundled down the A38 to see Pools at the motorway surrounded stadium somewhere near, but not ver near! Walsall. £2 to get in the Social club and three quid for a programme. Given their recent form and our injuries I thought this was a good performance by the Pools.
My analysis for what it's worth [ very little! ]

Flinders-- excellent handling only a couple of direct shots to save
Austin-- average lacking in pace and awareness
Hartley-- top class central defending, clattered a few home players
Baldwin--- the outstanding player on the park, cool classy defending, this boy will go far
Horwood--As usual ok going forward two vg crosses, less assured defensively
Murray--sat well in a holding role
Sweeney--ok had our best/ only chance in the second half
Holden--looked a littel lost and light weight
Rowbottom--Looked comfortable, some good early tackles faded a little in the second half
Monkhouse-- Ok used his elbows to good effect on a couple of defenders
Humpreys--I can see why Cooper plays him up front, he didn't look like scoring but when he got the ball he kept it well and generally unsettled Butler all the game.
Brown-- did nothing
Boyd-- seems happy to give the ball way
Incidentally, unlike some poolies around me i thought Atwell refereed the game well, ok he missed the odd thing but I've seen loads worse this season at all levels

For Holden read Hawkin, I guess.

I was expecting at least a parking fine story!

I can also see why he plays Humphreys up top but he needed some quicker men around him, looked too isolated for my liking. I don't think the wide men got round the back enough. Luke James or James Poole in that side and we would have won.

Whilst it was a crap game, the defensive performance compared to Wycombe was light years away. Coops seems to have done the trick.
