Lewis Hawkins John. Great little player, the next Luke James. Brian Honour had him on loan last season and rates him very highly.

I'm glad we are trying the kids out. In years gone by we would of probably stuck an older more experiences player in playin out of position.

Great to see two kids in midfield, it's the area our squad is lacking something. Like before Cooper does not think twice about throwing them in.

Mind, if Luscombe can't make the 16 today it's pretty clear he's finished at Pools.

Exactly the same formation, Humphreys up front Monkhouse and Sweeney off him, Murray, Rowbotham and Hawkins in midfield.

Didn't Rowbotham play full-back in his only previous appearance?

Yeah he played right back, and looked a good footballer I remember people saying at the time that he is more a centre mid.

Bizarre.

It's no surprise they went in the transfer market to split up the Burgess/Hughes partnership based on their performance at the Vic.

He was on Horden's books under Honour. We signed him from there after he impressed against us in a preseason game.

Hawkins is a kid I've had my eye on for a while. Has all the attributes to make a decent player

Glad to see him getting some first team experience. Hopefully he wont end up going down the same route as Jonny Rowell.

Jonny Rowell - what road was that ? Was that the road where you play well, score loads for the ressies and everyone describes you as the most exciting prospect at HUFC for years. Then you get a few first team starts (months apart), play well one week and get dropped the next and then get released by Turner..?

Or was there more to the Rowell story than what I described?

Nope, it was all down to Turner being an incompetent bellend.

His attitude to using youth players is on a different planet to Coopers.
