My younguns laptop got a virus. Couldnt open anything unless he bought this antivirusprogram for 79 dollars.

I opened up his laptop in safe mode and cleaned it up. Its gone now.

problem now is, his laptop is running very v e r y slowly. And seems to crash with nearly every appication.

It is a decen spec machine, and up until yestreday was fine.

Any ideas?

What did you scan it with ?

Scan with the following programs

tdsskiller ( From kaspersky) Its a root kit finder
Avast Antivirus ( do a boot time scan)
Malwarebytes
Superantispyware

If you have ran all those and its still crashing or being slow its probably trashed some of the windows
files. Do a back and then do a factory restore on the laptop
