Is it a sporting coup for England or just another cheap way of rebuilding London through the back door??

How will Hartlepool benefit??

I don't mind the Olympic Games but having to pay 9 Billion....and rising....to host it is criminal!!!!
Especially when the only people making money out of it will be the big coporate business's!!!!

Is it true that Canada have just finished paying off the cash for hosting the Games in the 70's???? confised confised

Well, I'm not far from where the Olympics are going to be held and I'll definitely be paying for them in various ways for years to come. A great big scam basically.

They're also going to knacker up a load of allotments and wildlife sites which bugs me personally. rage

Must admit I'm looking forward to going. The Commonwealth games in Manchester was a great occassion. Just wondered what they are going to call the main stadium. How about 'The Tony Blair Legacy Stadium' or 'The Pauline Fowler Memorial Stadium'. Any other sugestions?

So all the shitholes in London are gonna get spruced up on the taxpayer so the country doesn't look a laughing stock but us in the north are expected to fund it but see nothing for it. Why don't the government just cancel the nuclear programme and we can host the olympics, a football world cup, cricket world cup and much more without it costing the tax payer anything.......

But....It'll get spruced up for 2 weeks....(just like Hartlepool does when we have 'Royalty' visiting us peasants)....and then it'll end up like the dome....a massive tent with no sleeping bags but plenty of tramps hanging about outside looking for somewhere to sleep with our Granchildren paying for it!!!!

But eh....let's see who can run the fastest with a wrap of whizz....It'll cure obesity!!!! :sweeeet:
