So much easier this way.

Great when your winning...not so much when your not.

If its a good set of lads its worth it.

It's not the worst thing in the world, as long as you have a set of lads willing to pay subs, can get 11 out every week and get a bit of financial backing from a pub/business then you'll be alright.

The rest takes care of itself.

Just make sure your on top of your paperwork with the league as they dish out fines for anything.

Yeah we have a good set of lads who pay subs every week, we get about 16 lads turn up each week. The hard work will be pre-season, getting new kits and some sort of sponsorship or backing from somewhere.

Thats the problem, it's hard to get the pubs as they dont have much spare money n the majority have been peed off with teams in the past, committing money to teams and then getting nothing in return as lads just dont wanna show up n spend any coin in the pub on a sunday.

By far the hardest thing i've found is getting young lads to the boozer for a few drinks after the game, they just dont wanna go for some reason, a few cheap drinks, food n footy just doesnt seem to appeal.

I've had to put subs up cos of that.

Yeah at the start of the season we were sponsored by the Park inn, but lads stopped going in after few month. We only have 3 games left this season, hopefully 4 if we get through to the final. So it leaves plenty of time to get sorted for next season.

hard job mate, and a thankless task. like yubep says, when its going well and you've got good set of lads its brilliant. its when its not going so well that you find out about people.

lot of young lads can't combine going out on a saturday and then turning up. if you have a decent sponsor and you can get lads back to your boozer, its half the battle. be prepared to shell cash out of your own pocket too. oh, and let us sign ashley holland

Who you manage like Aido? We do have a good set of lads, and a few of them will say if they are going out on the Saturday they probably wont be there. Sponsor is priority like, I have a few contacts who should be able to help out so hopefully that can be sorted..

No chance with Ashley haha

Ah I know Westy who plays for you's. Ashley certainly is a goalscorer, had a trial at Whitby town last year and done well but nothing came from it.

We're just a new side, had a poor season 1st season in second div but improving rapidly. Got some decent players hoping for better things next season, depends what level you wanna play at but sure you would be more than welcome to come train with us!

Well im playing for Belle Vue old boys when im home from uni, but finishing this year and belle vue aren't the best standard so looking for a fresshhh team. Not really bothered about playing at any level on a sunday, just for fun but want to do well at the same time. Save the decent standards for saturdays!

Think Andy is still gunna be around helping, but its all going to be registered under me, think im gunna step back from playing though and help run the team. First thing on my list is a sponsor and some new kits.

Also how much is it to sponser a local footy club, just a thought as might do it down here for a bit of advertising?

they got promoted compo they are in the league above.

Pitch fees are around the £450 mark, then anything else on top like kits balls etc can vary.

Cheers might have to do a bit of research work of local leagues like as I work for a molecualr biology company so no point in sponcering a pubside. I think the research biocluster companies have a league in Cambridge so will see about that.

we need capable players fullstop. we're just about safe this year after getting promoted last year. we lost three or four of our better players so its been what we in the management game call "a season of transition"

I know Aido who used to play for Albion and Jono who still does. Our next game isnt until 18th March and that's also against Belle Vue in the semi final. Hopefully our Raglan came will be rearranged before then so we can build up our confidence

Had some great times at local level over 20 years as asst manager / first aider with boys welfare f.c winning endless trophys including the county cup on more than one occasion.
Formed boys welfare atheltic in the sunday league and took them to the 2nd in the premier before retiring welfare atheltic are still around today.
You can still catch me wandering about watching grassroots football every sunday love it.
