Post subject: new rules to end games
PostPosted: Thu Mar 15, 2007 1:03 am
must be the Glaisers influence
but only for the lowere leagues
all games that end in a draw will have a penalty shoot out to find a winner
there will be no one point for a draw system
and all the clubs will be looking for a penalty specialist to win them the games
and you will find some teams packing their defense to hope to win it on the shoot out
football as we know it will be doomed

Time for 72 club chairmen to stand up and be counted or else walk away.

..then it'll be the goals made bigger...... no offside..... does it never occur to these people that defending is also part of the game? You'll have teams defending to hold out for the shoot out, it'll have the opposite effect, but people are that dumb, if you package it right with the right celebs, they'll buy into it.....they watch Big Brother don't they ?

Surely this is some sort of competition. The winner will be the football fan who can find the most ways to say "FOOK RIGHT OFF!!!!"

I'm astonished this is even going to be discussed. It will not happen, it can not happen.

Exactly, it won't happen. So why do the fucking FA even bother discussing it?

I'm guessing the FA are funded by the people who go through the turnstiles every week so it's us that are paying for these tits. Are they really this stuck for something to do?

Calm down everybody. This is just the football league's usual inefficiency. The press notification was supposed to be released on 1st April but somebody sent it out early thinking it was to go out on Red Nose day.

If that did happen, I'd actually go mental. I'm they'd be a mass protest.

I went fucking mental when I heard the news.

End of good football as we know it. Why would they even consider it? It's like the MLS - why the fuck would we Americanise a game we created?

It's a fooking barmy idea and should NEVER be allowed to happen refred

Penalty shoot-outs should be scrapped anyway, it's a ridiculous way to end a game.

They should just use the golden goal rule(in cup games)and if no-one scores just keep playing till someone inevitably will.

They could be playing for about 4 hours though the way the softies go down with cramp all the time...

I've always thought that every outfield player should have to take a penalty in the penalty shoot outs rather than just the chosen 5.......

I'm fizzling with rage after reading BBC 606.

A lot of people agree with it, such as a journalist from the BBC. rage

Other suggestions put forward are:
    1.Zero points for a draw.
    2. Team that scores first gets an extra point.
    3. Top half teams with the most goals scored in a season get extra points/ eg. highest scoring gets plus 10, 2nd highest scoring plus 9 etc.
    4. Let's get rid of League 1 and 2 cause those leagues are boring, let's put them in conference north and south. This will give championship teams more tv revenue.

A few quotes,

Quote:
"The best thing the football league could do to improve excitement is instead of 3 divisions of 24 sides, spread them over 4 divisions with 20 in each or maybe 18-20-20-20 (with a couple of Conf sides added or a reduced Prem by 2 clubs)

I'd pesonally have the bottom two leagues, side by side, on a par so the promotions needed to the Premiership will not alter."

Quote:
"How about adding one 15-minute extra-time period for any game that ends scoreless, and if it is still scoreless at the end of that period, no points to either team. Score draws would continue to give each team a point."

Quote:
I think penalty's would be exciting

Quote:
How about 4 points for a win
2 points for a score draw won on penalties
1 point for a 0-0 won on penalties
and 0 for a loss ?

Quote:
sounds good to me, scrap the 90 mins and just have a shootout, first to 30 wins.

Quote:
Or decide a game on corners if its a draw like we used to in 5 a side tournaments in the 70s and 80s

Quote:
2 bonus points for scoring 2 or more away from home.
1 bonus point for scoring 2 or more at home.

Surely the easiest way to encourage attacking football.

Quote:
The idea has some merit, just depends on how its done.

If I were to do it, i'd scrap draws all together and go back to 2pts for a win.

Winning in normal time gets you two points, if all square at Full-Time, go to the shoot-out. Winner takes all, loser gets nothing.

Quote:
Draws are extremely boring on the most part and this sort of thing would make teams play exciting attacking football, i say trial it

I'd say 80% on the BBC message boards are against it but worryingly 20% are for. What's gone wrong with football and football fans.

Anyway...less of the quotes. I did find one thing out about this which was ASTONISHING...this proved a popular idea in a Football League Fans Survey which was conducted. Whoever answered that survey should be shot.

Anyway, all the chairmen of the FL are discussing it tommorrow so Uncle Ken it's time to go on the rampage.[/list]

Check me out

How class is this.

Three teams relegated from premiership

Bottom replaced by champs of lge 2
2bd bottom by champs of lge 1
3rd bottom by champs of championship.

The relegated prem teams then go to lge 2, lge 1 and champs

other promotion places to be as normal between champ, lge 1 and lge 2

now wouldnt that make footy more attacking

I am all for that, you could also add to the mix something like at every 10 minute interval each team has to remove a player from the pitch, would make the managers job a little more difficult when he has to decide whether or not to go for broke and remove a defender or just play it cautious.

I will find something else to spend my money on if it ever happens. Can't some Russian spy feed plutonium to Brian Mawhinney next time he's out to lunch?
