Watching it now on discovery from having a good start destroying one of their ships, the british took a heavy hit around 4 or 5 ships by the time the troops entered the falklands on foot.

Seem to remember when i was at brierton school in my day their was a picture on the wall memorial to a lad who died in the war sure his name was turnbull was a navy man, think the ship was the sheff. Mr I may know?

Why is it behind schedule? Am waiting for Bear Grylls to start.

Ian Turnbull was the lad killed, a chef on the Coventry. The matlots took the initial pounding and we on land were mere spectators mostly. some of it was surreal to watch. You really could see the Argie pilots faces as they flew very low to attack the ships. The Antelope going up was probably the most spectacular. A ship exploding at night is something you tend to remember.

As for Pathfinders; your mate may well have been there but not as part of Pathfinders platoon. They never deployed as such. Unfortunately there are tens of thousands of Falklands veterans, some of which were actually there! PM me his surname and I'll check the medals issued list?

Bollocks. If you were simply inquiring you wouldn't have used the word Malvinas.

I was trying to be controversial!

Just a quick fact:

Falklands War 1982
Pathfinders Platoon formed 1983

Aye, it could have gone wrong in translation. Afraid I've got a Walt alert set on default. You mate will understand that. Being one of the first ashore suggests 2 Para, possibly C Company (recce/patrols). Here's a killer question. "do you know the pig?
If he's gen (and I have no reason to think he isn't) he will answer with the message I've just sent you.
