Should have been wound up, (or words to that effect, not just Darlo but any club who keeps going into administration) and put out of league. Only a quick bit on local news but full interview on Late Kick Off tomorrow night.

...and he's totally correct. They are going to end up worse off for this latest near-miss in my opinion. They would have been better off in the long run letting it die and starting again. It sounds harsh, but that's how I see it. Listen, Admin once is semi-understandable. Twice is a joke....3 times??? Nah, not worth saving.

Cue Pools fans "never going again" etc..etc...

Of course he's right. Darlow going into administration three times now means they will possibly default on their debts again, effectively once more robbing people and businesses who are/were owed money by the club.

As a club they are a disgrace.

It's the rules that are a joke - if you pick Leeds for example they owed money to people all over yet they still had and kept players who were on wages well above average for the division they were in. I know they were hit with a 10 point deduction (when they were down anyway) and then a further 15 point deduction but in reality that was the only punishment. The rules are too soft....

It could have happened a few times at Pools, not least under Gibson.

Even now we are being bankrolled way beyond our means by some fella in Norway, who could pull the plug at any time, leaving us with a shedload of contracts our attendances could never cover.
True, but .... success nowadays seems to be based on the ability of a club to find a sugar daddy, because I can't think of many clubs that are financially viable, even going all the way to the top of the Premiership.
It's like having a decent job, then losing it, easier to survive in a small house than being stuck in a 22 bedroom house that you kidded yourself you can afford ... Darlo needed to move a long time ago.

Listen, owning a League Football Club in 2011 is beyond a Millionaire. It's a role for a Billionaire, or a well-off business with cash to burn.

Wasn't there a bloke who bought Crystal Palace and basically lost his personal fortune of about £30 million in the space of about 18 months....?

Once it was found it was possible to make lots and lots and lots and lots of dosh from footy, it was only going one way...... fast forward a few years down the line and there'll only be the top clubs left playing soap opera footy ....... on the telly.

If GR didn't buy Darlo who would have paid off the debts they had built up before he effectively saved them...?

It looks like they need a bit more cash than anticipated to see out the season - with £500k the reported figure......

That'll take more than raffles, a 5000 crowd and a few full buckets. They need a serious investor, not well-meaning, hard-working fans. It's not enough. As Hugh Cornwell put it, it's like "Making Love To The Mersey Tunnel With A Sausage"

It looks like it is going to be another tough week down the road. I very much doubt fans have much more to give. How much hard earned cash can be chucked into what is seemingly a black hole?

the only people who can be pleased with the current situation are the liquidators, they're seeing money that they wouldn't of got their thieving paws on.. a final big game payout against York could see them snaffle another 75K into their deep pockets and they will ride into the sunset laughing their cocks off... The supporters would've been better off putting it out of its misery last week

Why would any Pools fans say "never going again" over this? Of course the best option for the Loids would have been liguidation on Wednesday. The only thing that has been achieved by Saint Harvey is 10's of thousands into his companies account. They handed over £210,000 this week, and for what, an extra 11 days, before they go bust. Let them die with a little dignity.

I find it a touch ironic when without the £1m a year from IOR Pools would be unsustainable and in a similar boat or no boat at all.

Hardly "Ironic" is it?? We have cash rich owners, they don't. You are quite correct in that we should appreciate what we have got, I'm not 100% some Pools fans do?

It was a bit tongue in cheek, as there were certain Pools fans saying they wouldn't attend if Ken Hodcroft wanted his investment in Billingham Town (where he was in the right again!) back....

I know for a fact some Pools fans dont apprecate it. Some have posted on this thread.

Far be it from me to mention Billingham town again, so I wont.

I call it fortunate not ironic. Never mind Darlow.

Aye, dead lucky us. Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, etc arent lucky that they have mega rich owners though. Its only Pools that are lucky.

How can we be lucky when there hasn't been any bovril????
No bovril is far more serious than no darlo.
I hope Ken explains this on tele instead of discussing foregone conclusions.

Yes but all we have to do to become sustainable is reduce our wage budget, although ultimately that will mean a return to league 2. We don't have a millstone around our neck like the White Elephant. Darlo could never become solvent until they move away to a more suitable home.

Hodcroft I'm fairly sure has printed those views in his programme column once or twice over the years. They are now just sensationalising it regarding darlo. I wonder if this is one of the reasons the BBC have interviewed him as his views are not exactly a secret. He is basically saying that clubs shouldn't be allowed to write off debts and continue at the level they are. It isn't fair on those clubs that do pay all of their bills. He is right.

Without IOR we may well be stuffed but I would hope that if they ever decided to pull out of the club they would at least give us a fighting chance of sustainability after they had gone but I am certainly in the camp that want IOR to stick around for a long time to come so hope we never find out what life would be like without IOR.

As far as darlo are concerned, I am sure HUFC will provide them with any help they can irrespective of the chairmans views in general.
