Not a lover of the game myself by the scheduling of this stuff seems crazy. There is now apparently a world cup on. Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't the England team been away on this tour for at least 4 or 5 months ? Surely they get to go home sometime ?

They had nearly 3 weeks at home I think after Australia.

I agree though far too much cricket, especially one dayers gets played these days. Money talks I suppose.

I know cricket, its that game where someone chucks a ball, someone else tries to bat it,then they stand about for half an hour then do it again, then stop or their tea, then it rains so they call it a draw.

I never figured out how a game can be a draw.

They play about 60 overs each I think, thats 60 x 6 = 360 balls. Surely its almost impossible to get the same score each.

I dont take a lot of interest in cricket, but it does seem to me that there are a lot of games declared a draw because they dont finish them properly.

50 overs each in one day cricket but it is a tie not a draw in this form of cricket.

There are more draws in test match cricket but many of them are due to running out of time not both teams scoring the same amount of runs....

You don't even get that many draws these days, the bowlers are getting better and the batsmen aren't!

Cricket isnt that bad - been to a few test matches in my time - good craic & a few beers in the sunshine (obviously not in Durham, like)
Give it a try - England play the West Indies at Durham in June.

As for World Cup, we'll come last, but not as last as Scotland, Ireland & the Dutch.
