Started on left wing then moved up front when we switched to 4-4-2 Then in the second half he was in central midfield.

Sorry to say he didnt do particulaly well any any position and is just taking a space in the squad and offers very little, but he was by no means alone in having a poor game yesterday.

That line up just further proved why it was a good decision not to let barron take charge full time. 4-5-1 formation with no recognised striker in the starting eleven.

His performance in defensive midfield in the 2nd half was the best in a pools shirt. Murray was awful and if anybody is hanging boots up then that's were the laces should be hanging. Richy takes an awful lot of criticism but it's very harsh. 2nd half he stifled there attacks and had a decent game. He passed the ball about and linked the play well on both sides. Baldwin shouldnt have been made a scapegoat at Ht though and possibly could have played there but Barron wanted a 4-4-2 in 2nd half and that was that. Richy played basically all midfield roles and upfront in our 1st half line up and didn't do anything worthy of praise but 2nd Half he was our best player. Def mid is clearly his best position and considering the form of Liddle and Murray there he is a big candidate for selection. Collins was so poor yesterday I'mGlad hes Gona be out for a while. His pace v Evans was a disgrace. Our fullbacks also offer nothing and our attacking problems start there. No over lapping runs and defensively were poor also. Sheff utd were a very good organised team and took full advantage of our shambolic defending. Not many positives form the game but James cameo and ritchies 2nd Half performance stood out

I am no great fan of Ritchie's but there were at least six players yesterday who played far worse than him....to whit Austin, Collins, Horwood, Murray, Sweeney and Boyd
It's all about opinions but as I said earlier Rh was probably our best outfield player testerday over the 90 minutes

I said yesterday that Murray may have played his last game for Pools if we get someone in the midfield area in the transfer window. Did a job for us last season and at times this season, but as opponents are getting stronger and fitter over the season, Murray is falling further and further away from the fitness levels required. That will also go for Humphreys, as he is also too slow. Midfielders need to be mega fit and fast to get the loose balls. Our midfield yesterday wasn't any of that.
Collins couldn't turn on a roundabout and Wright will correctly get a run in the team at centre back.
2 of the midfielders we do have who are very fit, Liddle and Sweeney, haven't got the footballing brains of Murray and Humphreys, and are technically not the best. So between those 4 we have potentially 2 very good players, but sadly we aren't allowed to field that many people. The young lads are still learning their trade and look great prospects for the future, but the rest of the season will simply be a case of seeing it through and avoiding the drop.

Unless......

With the transfer window (is there only me hates that phrase??) open and a new manager in the seat.................. :coool:

I know he's had no time yet to see where he wants new faces either from inside or outside the squad but let's wait and see what happens eh??

Somebody may have mentioned in passing that we haven`t scored at home in 7 games, are more shot shy than an Amish farmer and if the goal was a pussy we would hit the dirtbox

Are you on crack?

By no means did either Boyd or Brown "come on and change the game", Boydy had a mishit header over the bar from an Evan cross, and thats about it!

Hopefully Cooper's return will bring out the best in Boydy, but yesterday was not it.
