Good Day,

A tad over-dramatic, methinks. When talking about "such fans" ... at the end of the day it was THREE people.

Regards,

Bertram

I take it you must be going to critisise Ken Hodcroft after his comments.

Come on then.

he said something like "you have threatened our league position with your actions"

which is a clear over-reaction. it was a couple of idiots.

Keep the scummers off the pitch, but keep it in perspective will you.

Why is it an over-reaction, this is the 2nd time this season and the third time in total

Hey, why dont we all jump on the pitch, and have a good laugh about it?

The FA/FL are known to make knee jerk reactions, and why wouldnt we be the first to be docked points for such actions

What other knee jerk re-actions have they made?

They're well known for pandering to big clubs whilst giving it large to smaller ones. If invading the pitch becomes a habit at your place they'll come down hard, and I think that's the point the club's trying to make.

Sincerely hope you don't get into too much trouble over this, all because of a couple of d*ck heads!!

Why can't people just go and support their team and enjoy it??

It may well be just a couple of 'daft lads', but if they'd stay on the terrace with the rest of us we wouldn't have a problem would we. Will Uncle ken be taking a firm approach to discourage future 'pitch invaders'...?

course I will, for the reason that it will NEVER happen

ban them forever, lock them up, whatever, but don't go on at us about docked points - it will not happen unless there's a major incident. whether you like it or not, 2 drunk fools getting on the pitch is not a major incident. going on at us, the normal fans, about docked points, is taking us for half-brained idiots who might just spill onto the pitch at any given time. it's patronising.

it could have been forgotten about by now - but people are too willing to keep highlighting the fact that there were a couple of errant doyles at that match. there's errant doyles everywhere and it's not worth letting them bring the whole club down by going on about it so much and exaggerating the significance of their actions.

Someone had mentioned that one of the lads were in the TownEnd on Saturday

One of the lads that they saw had a shiny black eye & stitches on his face

But back to the subject, I agree with Ken's comments and he's right to point it out due to similar offences in the past

When they went on I never gave it a second thought, till one momentarily went face to face with the keeper, it was then that I thought what's gonna happen here? ... Nothing as it turns out, but the problem was, I wasn't sure...

the tussel was started not by the 'fan' but by the keeper, he laid his hands on the lad because he could not stand the comedy goading he was getting. It was not an attempt to attack the player.

This sort of thing is going to happen now and again, unless we go back to fencing the fans in, accept it, do whatever is possible to prevent it and move on.

If we get fined they can take it out of the Boyd transfer money the majority of which has never seen the light of day

Please just stop sounding like a bunch of old ladies, we will not loose points, the world will not end when there is an eclipse and the wind is not God exhaling his dis-pleasure at your sins.

sh1t happens as the buddha would say

I think the Boyd transfer money has somehow got lost in the millions that IOR have put into the club over the years, Triumphantly Dense.

There is a thread of 'support' at Pools that seems to think investing in the club is an automatic occurence, a privilege that IOR are lucky to have,..... it aint, as our less than illustrious history so clearly shows. This same type of supporter mockingly dismiss the antics we are discussing ... forgetting it and moving on doesn't solve the problem ..... if they get a gas leak at home do they say 'Hey,shit happens' .... and drop the subject?

Okay, I'll forgive him his naivety and lets all assume the FA/Football League 'move on' without any penalty to the club. Only 'cos he's in direct contact with Buddha, who's quite a celebrity in these parts, mind.

But a local survey on his comments on the subject of Boyds transfer fee revealed the following:

Does he sh*te have strong views on it. I'm reliably informed he doesn't give a toss.

Yes, Birmingham were fined 25,000 grand but the incident was far worse in a far more high profile situation.

I can't believe we are still going on about this!

So why did he bother writing the article for the program then?

Well he was hardly going to come out and write 'special mention to the 3 lads who ran on the pitch- lets see more of you on after we score today', was he?

So why bother at atll

Only Hartlepool United fans, or some of them, could just treat this kind of thing as they are

Lets see what happens when we score against Lincoln on Friday and another chavster gets on the pitch, mayhaps you can ask you pal in the know then, seen as he (or indeed she) has all the answers

Just one more note on the subject,
IOR are a business and are in this club for monetary reasons, it is no philanthropists folly for the good of all you bunkerites, yes they have done really well and transformed this club for what they were in early 80's when we started watching. I am very glad of this fact but it does not give them god like benevolence, they do want some if not all of that investment back which is why big transfer incomes will go into the coffers, fair enough.

Also, I am not naive, far from it and insinuating I am dense is indeed an insult that one day may return to haunt you.

It seems free and open speech is frowned upon on this board, you must tow the party line and be in the clique, we lads that is how the nazi's started.

I will now go and bow down to my host of idols in form of IOR and uncle Ken and swear never to say, do or think anything that may cause them upset or give them reason to leave us poor poor Hartlepool fans who really do not know how lucky we are and how little we deserve such input from a gracious & charitable multi national oil company.

This club will be around long after IOR and everyone else is long gone, besides I thought it was the town club ?

I only know of someone who spoke to Hodcroft in a meeting shortly after the event and they said he gave the impression he didn't give a fuck. They may have got the wrong end of the stick, but seeing as Hodcroft is a businessman who doesn't go to Pools matches half the time, I can't see his programme notes coming from the heart

The point of writing it was to stop it happening again, sending out the right message, give the FA the right impression that we are showing that we are actting on these incidents. Not because Ken Hodcroft is scared we are going to be demoted seven divisions like some believed on here because 0.05% of one single home games attendance ran 3 yards on to the pitch for a total of about 7 seconds.

The thing is, I agree with what KH was saying in his notes. How could you disagree. But there really is no need to believe that he is going to pull the plug over this like some are saying. Its ridiculous
