Im after a new bike, nowt flash its just for me riding around town not going up & down mountains or owt like that.

This is the cheapest option
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_770971_langId_-1_categoryId_165499

I also fancy this one

Is it a case of you get what you pay for & the £80 job is shite or is it just a waste spending any more than that for riding around town ?

Sensible input is welcome.
Piss taking is expected

£80?

You're having a laugh aren't you?

I thought the done thing nowadays was to just go and kick the shop window in and take what you want cos the government have closed some youthies?

Depends what you use it for.
These new road type bikes with the skinny tyres are pretty popular now, got one off work to use when I'm on me visits, it's already been nearly pinched twice!!!
Prefer mountain bikes meself.
The one I've had for a few years has done me fine and it was only £80.

Are you going to get some of these for your spokes?

Or are you going to really pimp it out like this:

dont forget to put a crushed can on the back wheel so it sounds dead loud like a motorbike.

You'll be the envy of all your mates.

Heard there's loads going cheap in and around Tottenham/Hackney/Croydon/Birmingham/Nottingham/West Bromwich/Liverpool/Manchester, in fact, anywhere with a looted Halfords.

The £80 one is just as good for round town Mr Groovy. With mountain bikes you basically pay extra for strength, lightness, suspension and gears. The gears on that are fine and a few extra pounds and the strength of the frame make no odds riding around town. No suspension on either.
