Best team won today, Colchester looked very poor mind, not quite sure why they are up there??

We were solid at the back (apart from last minute) Murray was everywhere in the middle and had a great game (cant say i really noticed Liddle which i guess shows just how much Murray covered) Great finish by Sweeney and he did some good work. Humps was poor on left wing though.

Boyd was poor, off the pace and awful touch and Brown well he still isnt a striker to me but he did well. Feel sorry for Mcsweeney to be honest.

Gutted not to see Larkin find the net after some blistering pace and great skill, would have been a brilliant goal.

Biggest laugh of the day had to be Humphreys voted as motm

Well done all!

He did great, they were shit scared of his pace. 1 on 1 when he missed but to be fair it looked a great save.

Larkin did excellent when he came on like, the colchester defenders didn't know what hit them when he was running at them and they didn't dare touch him clappp

All played well but looked like it was going to be another scoreless game until Sweeney came to the rescue.
Great win though with some tough games coming up.
Mom for me was Sweeney, put in a great shift and won us the game with a good finish.

They didn`t carry much threat up front and Mr Murray take a bow son, outstanding in every dept, the last 20 mins when Larkin and Monkhouse came on was crackin and the crowd found its voice at last
Nice to go home smiling and thankyou to the woman in the cyril stand who must have been 50, on her seat sticking the v`s at the away end, banging her seat and whistling, Quality!

Murray was mom in my opinion, he seemed to thrive on having more space in what was a less congested midfield. Plue starting with 2 up top gave all players more of an out ball. Decent performance..

Concuring with most of the above, Murray was massive for us, Sweeney really grafted especially second half, Larkin looked like a new player when he came on.

But 3 points and above the wendies makes me very happy.

Murray & Collins were good today but Hartley was MOTM for me. A totally different player from last season (now in his preferred position).
Well done to the 3 subs who put in a good shift for the short time they were on the pitch

Larkin was excellent when he came on and arguably helped keep the pressure on their defence, eventually leading to us scoring at the death.

I think today also illustrated that whilst Monkhouse can be frustrating at times he is comfortably one of the best players we have. Beats defenders for fun and when he's not trying to impress people with daft little flicks he is a real handful. We looked far more menacing when he came on with Larkin and it's no surprise we eventually scored.

He did indeed. Following on from his last performance at home against Notts County where he was also superb.

As Kipling said if you can keep your head while all around are losing theirs and blaming it on you then you are a man my son. Go on then you can have that bow. But don't forget nobody likes a smart arse!

Great win today and clean sheet should give the lads a load of confidence for the next few weeks and a load of home games.

I think its a bit harsh not to give haslam some praise after that game. He was one of our better players imo. Solid and never put a foot wrong.

He reminds me of Keith Nobbs, no nonsense defending and wholehearted tireless displays. And he takes no shit.

He defended well but his distribution wasn't very good at all, he had a right go at himself over one of the crosses he slung over the Town End second half. He's had better games but he was as committed to the cause as everyone else.

Larkin was not excellent. If he can ever be described as excellent then we have gone back an awful long way.

He did brilliantly to create the chance for himself, then missed the easiest bit. After that he had one other good run, then just did his usual.

He is a non league striker at best, and if he isnt released at the end of the season I will be amazed and saving a kot of cash next season. Pub player.

larkin and monkhouse coming on changed the game before that the only team that were going to win it were colchester. I wish he'd got that goal because it seems like he'll never score but he always gives everything unlike someone like boyd who strolled around. surely that was his last chance for us. Murray was excellent in midfield and put in some great challenges and haslam showed again what a great squad player he is definitely worth another year

Murray once again man of the match for me. Hartley and Liddle also had very good games, while i thought Humphries on the left wing just didn't work out at all. The main difference with Larkin today is he actually looked determined to score, unlike most other matches where he conveniently never seems to get on the end of things. Interesting that Mick has dropped Bjornsson from the first team squad for the past couple of games, and with Austin expected to be fit for next week, i wonder if Yantorna will be the next one dropped from the bench. Well done to Wadsworth for realising changes where needed and making them, and for dropping Monkhouse (who needed it) who came on and looked like the player we know he can be.

I think Boyd's poor performance certainly spurred Larkin on. If I was Larkin, on the bench, with Boyd playing, I'd have been thinking, "how on earth can this guy justify a start ahead of me."

When Humphreys moved up front he played very well, he's probably the best 'forward' we've got with his back to goal balls all of sudden started to stick. He wasn't MOTM though, that was Murray who was awesome. To play against he must be like a terrier that constantly shags your leg.

there certainly were plenty of positives but -

larkin should have scored - keeper was almost on his arse when he had the ball and he delayed his shot. However, his confidence his low, he hasn't scored since 1974 etc
chip is right liddle did do some creative running, but it was down the left wing and his left foot is weaker than chapel tea

boyd didn't do that badly from a touch and go point of view except there was little go, he made some good chest offs and looks in shape(ish) for him, but has no match fitness, and i personally see running as a key attribute. him and brown are still the most talented players at the club but for injury and potential other reasons, their touch and form has deserted them. ball to their feet sweeney to get the running for them, can we afford this?
liked it when i saw harltey trying to berate harwood and telling him how to play left back - the irony.
what i liked about horwood and haslam is that i didnt notice them, few mistakes.
full back four good shape and line all game.

murray - wonderful display - their no 6 clarke who he tackled in the first half will have never been or will ever be tackled so hard without an injury or the other person being booked.

can't wait for the clearout and one or two new signings and the youth lads getting their chance.

What youth lads is there coming through that you think can seriously push for the first team katcha?

Or anyone else for that matter with a bit of knowledge of the youth team players.

I'd love too see a few younguns breaking through into the first team.

Callum Hassan. Big, coloured Striker offering us something TOTALLY different to what we've had before. Natural goalscorer, elbows everywhere, will be a Pools legend, nailed on. Is that OK for starters??!

Aye the sooner we give this kid a chance the better. I reckon if we are safe with a few matches to go MW will give him and one or two more youngsters an outing.

How old is Hassan?

I only ask because if he is 18+ he should have broken through by now.

Just reading Ken Hodcroft's programme notes, coupled with the report of Callum's 2 goals for the Youths on Saturday, I reckon it's pretty nailed on he will feature as soon as we reach 45-47 points. And he's 17.

Glad to hear Mr Wadsworth has stopped the rot and finally decided to go with 4-4-2.

Finally, a piece of luck goes our way for a change. And we're back in the top half where I think we belong.

Nice to hear Murray had a good game. Usually, if he has a good game, 'Pools play well.

I hope we can get a decent result result away at Brighton now.

Well done 'Pools!!! clappp
