Phone help!

I have just got a damsung galaxy portal for Christmas, and just put my headphones in to listen to some music. However once I took my head phones out my music will not play through the phone and people cannot here me during calls, any ideas?

have you tried turning it off and back on

Yess, no good, it will play my ring and message tones just no music and people cannot here me speak whilt on the phone.
