But you know he’ll always keep moving
You know he’s never gonna stop moving
Cause he’s rollin’, he’s the rolling stone.
And when you wake up it’s a new morning
The sun is shining, it’s a new morning
But you’re going, you’re going home.

"Jokers to the left -Jokers to the right.
Stuck in the middle with you".

Great Rafferty lyrics from his time in Stealers Wheel.

Shame the sherberts brought him down eventually.

Baker Street is all about his alcoholism isn't it?

Bob Holness did play sax but it wasn't THAT Bob Holness . It was the ex-studio musician of the same name.

The song which was used for the torture scene in Reservoir Dogs I believe.

Tarantino must have had a thing for using American-sounding British songs in his films.

he did die of symptoms of alcoholism....but he was getting 80k a year just from royalties from baker street a song he wrote about alcoholism

Enough for a few sherberts then!

My Uncle has reminded me that Rafferty started out with the Big Yin, Billy Connolly in the Humblebums in the late sixties & that Rafferty's father also died of alcoholism.

Real shame he's gone.

A nod to Mr O -it was Rarf Ravenscroft who played sax on the orginal Baker Street recording.
