if anyone is coming down for the weekend just a couple of things to be aware of. torquays ground is miles away from any decent drinking holes.on the day of the match I'd recommend using torquays own club at the ground, the boot n laces decent pint and away fans welcome.plenty of eating places down by the marina early on but its a taxi ride or a long uphill walk back to the ground.
if you're using the train change at newton abbot catch a paignton train and get off at torre(first stop) grounds about 10 15 mins walk away.
if you're out on the friday night personally I'd avoid torquay and head for exeter, much better night out and better spread of pubs restaurants to suit all tastes, torquays full of drug dealing scousers!

come on have a drink in Babbcombe they are plently of good pubs which are near the ground.

The area around St MARYS has plenty of good pub including the Crown and Sceptre on St Petitor Road a good which is a listed building near the ground we have The Union pub nearest pub to the ground and a change to Boots and Laces club at the ground.

I recommend a pub in Newton Abbot called the Cider House. :sweet:

I'm not kidding its got a concrete floor sloping to a drain in the middle of the floor-with a big hose reel on the wall :sweet:

The ciders strong as fook

If you like cider :sweet:

ah the cider bar is indeed a legend, occupied by day by incontinent old farmers with bits of string holding there keks up,then the place is swilled out with a hose to get rid of the "debris" before the trendies use it at night.
the cider there is evil, wicked stuff and is prone to get your legs pissed before the rest of you realises whats happened.

If your going on a Friday night, go to Dawlish Warren instead, go to that place they call the Lawn and see bands like the Wurzels peform! And that dodgy band who peform famous songs and have an ice cream.

There's few pubs but there's 3/4 near the train station. Try the The Welcome Inn, which is a minute away from the train station and has good chicken roast or if you can be bothered going up a steep hill go to the Mount Pleasant Inn but with some of your weights it might just callapse.

Ignore my advice cause it's probably bad and I haven't been for four years but the best thing about Devon is Dawlish as dawlishmonkey will know.

the warren is a ghost town mate,it only comes to life between april and october. even the welcome inn shuts,as most of the places make there money and bugger off for the winter.
