Was wondering if anyone can help me with my search for tv footage of Pools - anything before 1989??

Also any footage from the Darlo games at the Vic in 99, 2000 and 2001. I've just transferred all of my VHS stuff onto DVD's and was looking for the bits I mentioned above.

I used to have Pools highlights from a game shown on Shoot in the late seventies / early eighties. Can't remember who we played but we won 2 or 3-0 I think with Paul Staff scoring. Anyway...my Mum recorded over it a good number of years ago much to my frustration!!!

Any help please???

that was the Rochdale game 82/83 the last ever time Shoot showed Pools. It changed after that to the Back Page which showed shortened highlights of all the local games, instead of only having one lot of outside broadcast cameras 1970's style!!!

Last month I veiwed a site which listed all the weekly games from the decades between 1962-83 which featured on the Shoot programme. Type in Shoot (Tyne Tees) and view for yourself.

According to it our first full game featured was on 3rd Oct 1964 a 1-0 home win against Millwall.

The Back Page with Duncon Wood and Roger Thames was awesome - remember watching the promotion season on that as was too young to go to many games, I always remember thinking (Mick Mills) the bloke who played for Boro looked a bit funny but had an even stranger voice.

Somebody who has a bit of time on their hands should whack some old Pools stuff on Youtube...

Mills was involved in a head-on car crash in the Tyne Tunnel in which he nearly lost his life, and had to have his face totally rebuilt.
