nowt helpful on the official site aprt from news on snow clearing.

It's snowing again here in Sedgefield on top of the 4 inches that came down last night.

Any news on weather in Pools? Road conditions into the town on the A689 etc?

My mate's heading for Sedgefield on the bus from Darlow.
Trying to decide whether it's an afternoon in front of Sky in the village pubs or trying to get to the Vic!

Any info appreciated.

Main roads appear to be ok at moment, I've just been to that little Sainsbury at Bishop Ponceville.

And the snow has JUST stopped. For now.

If they'd called it off yesterday and no snow had fell overnight or this morning people would have been a bit cross.

I think the club have been spot on in trying to get the game on.
the weather forecasts I have seen didn't predict heavy snowfall last night or today.

I've been down there for a couple of hours this morning with my two lads to help out.

There was a good couple of inches of snow covering the pitch but it seems fine underneath. The snow that has fell this morning isn't causing a problem once the snow is clear.

No problems with snow on the terraces either.

Problem with clearing the pitch is timescales. From 9:30 till midday just over half was done. Lots of the mill house side and towards the town end still to do.

Nah chip, I dont think they give tickets away for helping out these days.

Didn't mind going down like, the kids loved it being on the pitch.

The earlier article on the pools site about saying there was an inspection at 1pm showed a pic of the ref on the pitch about 11:30, we were stood just behind mark simpson when he took the photo, and the ref may have smiled for the photo but he was twisting his face the rest of the time and didn't look happy even then. And that was before the heavy bout of snow started ........

thanks to all the gadgies who bothered replying to the original post.

Just about to set off for Pools when the game was postponed.
Can't believe Pools gave nowt to the fans who turned out to clear the pitch.
A voucher for the club shop if not a ticket wouldn't have gone amiss.

7th Dec for re-arranged match-really, that soon?

Long range forecast doesn't look too good if the Billingham weather station info is right.

Let's hope it's on & we get through.

We travelled up without much bother, passed a Yeovil supporters bus at Wetherby. The snow started about the Yarm area on the A19.
Got to the railway station to pick the bairn up at about 12.30. Went round to Jacksons Wharf for a pint and a sandwich.
After finding out the game was off we left to go home at about 2.30. The A 689 out of Hartlepool was horrendous, as was the A19 till we got to the Tontine...........roads clear after that.
There were some Yeovil fans in the pub...said they were staying the weekend at the Marine.
All this way for nothing.............felt sorry for them.
That's two wasted journeys lately, Notts C and today.
Never mind eh.

A wasted journey to the cultural capital of the North East, surely not Derwent!

Ah.......so that's why our gates are low...............all the people who live in Hartlepool spend their leisure time in cultural pursuits instead of going to Pools.
I blame the MP, the Mayor and the council for removing the traditional working class pursuits.....................
..............
