im not sure they were flattered, once they had it in the bag they fell asleep too a few times and we snuck in to crete a few chances, but when we play so poorly everywhere on the pitch, possibly sweeney and murray get away with a bollocking because they did quite well, you can expect to get a hammering off a team with Mellor upfront and giles coke in midfield..

i like Poole though, he has a bit of pace, he gets in behind the defenders and has a decent touch, hes just inexperienced and lightweight, but did ok when he came on.

we show glimpses of being a decent side, but stupid mistakes at the back and a lack of attacking threat up top convinces me we'll suffer plenty of defeats this year. especially as we set up as a team wanting to nick a point, and then when we concede were knackered. i pray brownie is fit again soon and things come together again.

Serious question.

After watching that last night, what do you think is worse? A striker that doesnt even get in positions to shoot, never mind score, or others that do, but are so inept at it, that either way we dont score.

After reading the comments on here, and those of MW I am no longer sure.

Not sure about that. Mellor and Coke have played most of the season and the only times that Wednesday have scored more than two have been against us (twice now) and against Southport in the FA Cup on Sunday. Mellor has three league goals to his name (one more than Clinton Morrison). Wednesday have only FIVE league goals at Hillsborough all season, the lowest in the division and second lowest in the whole league. We'd always handled Giles Coke perfectly well in the past.

we couldnt handle either of them at victoria park when we got beat 5-0. both good players, infact, theyve got a really good side on paper. there just playing crap at the minute. unless there given an hour on the ball like we gave them last night, id kill for a player like mellor. my god we have nothing upfront.

The way Wednesday started the first 10 minutes I thought we were going to get trounced. Morrison started lively, then he got tackled perfectly yet took it upon his arrogant little mind to start screaming at the ref for a penalty and he barely touched the ball again after that.

I didn't think Collins and Liddle were as bad as chip made out though each contributed to one of the goals conceded with Monky cocking up for the 4th with a very generous back header.

We didn't start to play ourselves till about 35-40 minutes. It was impossible to see how far Bjornsson was from making it 2-2 and going by what those said in the main stand, I don't think it was as close as we thought. Sweeney was involved superbly in both the goal and Bjornsson's chance, and I thought he was excellent all night.

How we never scored in the second half I will never know. Bjornsson's header was easier to score, Sweeney's wasn't much harder, Yantorno had one well saved by Nicky Weaver and to be fair it was a very tight angle, Liddle should have shot when he had a quite literally open goal instead of trying to beat a man and then shoot, Monky put a couple wide. The fact Weaver only made one proper save all night is probably more concerning than the fact we never put any of these chances away.

The service Bjornsson got in the first half was shyte but even when the ball does get paid to him he does his very best to jump out of the way of it. You could almost let him off for that if he was half decent infront of goal but that header he missed was unbelevable.

A very strange game and there are more negatives to take out of it than positives but we did hold our own for much of the game but if you give a team three goals like we did away from home you can't have any complaints.

Was encouraging to see that they never gave up even when the game was lost, Gary Liddle in particular was still flying about till the 93rd minute.

Think Tax Paying Poolie is spot on with his report. We weren't as bad as the scoreline suggests - and on good chances alone we could even have won the game. However a return to schoolboy defending and lack of any sort of composure up front - again - cost us dear.

I'd say they're probably about equal mate. Hence the reason Larkin will not be dropped until there is an outstanding alternative at the club that is fit.

We need to stop individual errors. Had far to many of them this season. I still dont know how we only scored 1! If we had a goal scoer last night they would off got a bagfull. Ok we have only conceded 3 goals away from home in leauge this season but we ahve only scored 3 as well! I am sure that only Lincoln in the footy leauge have scored less goals than us!
