in my mouth after leaving that game.

The conduct of the Vauxhall Motors players and management regarding the 50:50 that left the keeper injured was utterly despicable. The referee a fooking absolute disgrace, where do they get these clueless weak as piss toss pots from. What else was Ritchie meant do? Since when has a game lasted 86 minutes as well?

Saying that I hope the keeper has a speedy recovery. It was nasty, but one of those things. Surely we will win an appeal?

The performance was woeful though, why all the long ball shit? Why Colin Larkin, WHY!!!? Sweeney should have scored 4 in the first 15 minutes. Poole looks lightweight and not the answer, why don't have any forwards.

Hopefully though the actions of them towards the incident at the end gets us as fired up as we should have been at kick off today, and I hope someone lifts that total prick number 4.

No chance of winning an appeal although i agree it was 50/50 from my position.

Why no chance? It wasn't even a foul never mind a sending off.

Cos the guy broke his leg or whatever. I dont agree with the red card but it was the same with Shawcross against that Arsenal lad, wasnt even a foul but got red card and it stood etc. His tackle caused a broken leg so they aint gonna say "ok we rescind it" Sad but true.

Agreed.

If the poor lad has broken his leg then any appeal would be laughed out of any hearing.

So it's a red card because the keeper got his leg broke? He didn't even blow for a foul he reacted to the severity of the injury, I am not even sure it was Ritchie's boot that caught his leg.

It was a bad one, but it's a contact sport and these things happen.

I was also disgusted with the referees time management. There should of been at least 10-12 minutes added on at the end of the game not the 4 or 5 that he played. I hope he was getting assessed.

On the game I thought we played really well for 30 minutes despite Vaux being unlucky to have a goal chalked off and forcing a smart stop from Jake. After that we seemed to struggle. We need Paul Murray in the centre of midfield to break the game up but more importantly use the ball sensibly. Colin Larkin should never ever start a game up front again and hopefully won't....

6 minutes left when the keeper was injured, we didn't even play the 6 minutes.

The match followed the typical format for higher league club playing a lower league club. The higher league club dominates from the off then either scores and kills the game off or doesn't score, the crowd gets on the home team's back and the game turns into a scrap fest.

Although I am as tired of seeing Larkin upfront as the next Pools supporter I'm stumped as to who should play instead of him. Wadsworth has already said he won't make changes for changes sake which is an entirely defendable viewpoint.

Larkin was clean through twice in the first half today, the first time the brought it down and tired to pass it six yards from goal, the second time he tried to square it first time on the volley. He is oblivious to the thing with posts, a bar, and net that it at the end of the pitch.

Chip, I think he was perfectly entitled to go for it from where I was level with the incident. Did you see the goal Gerrard scored for Liverpool the other night?

Looked a 50-50 to me, shame the lad got hurt but Ritchie could have been equally unlucky and the keeper could have pulled out just as much as Humps could have. Their players were like a gang of pissed chavs down church street though and should be ashamed of themselves.

I wonder what people would be saying if that had been a challange on Keane by one of their players.

My intial thought was that its a killer ball, both men have to go for it & someone will end up injured,it was 50/50 which one was unlucky
I dont believe Humphreys is a dirty player, these things happen in football & I hope their keeper recovers quickly.

Like has been said earlier, I just hope it fires our players up for the replay. Cos they werent fired up today. Disgusted with their players but more disgusted with ours. Pathetic.

And as for larkin, what a useless lazy ponce of a player. I hope he never plays for us again. It would be better to play with ten men. At one point he stood as far out on the right wing as was humanly possible, whilst Monkhouse had the ball on the left week.

And then some smart arse on radio Hartlepool complains that Monkhouses balls into the box were rubbish.

Who thie fuck is he meant to aim for? Our bastad striker has fucked off to the other wing out of the way.

I thought it was a 50/50 ball and Humphreys had every right to go for it. The referee did not blow for a foul and he wasn't going to book Humphreys but then 4 mins later he changed his mind.

The referee's timekeeping was appalling. When I saw 4 mins go up...I actually thought it was 14 mins and we had a problem with the digit. I felt short changed.

As for the peformance, it's a shame that it took us 60 mins to get going.

Me,,,,,,, and the Ref didn't even blow for a freekick,,,, Richie only got sent off because of the injury and their benches reaction.

According to the interview with Sam Collins on the O/S the ref told Sam that both players were entitiled to go for the ball and that it would be a yellow card for Richie's foul. He was then astonished that the ref pulled out the red card. The VM manager acknowledged the gesture of Richie going into their dressing room to say how sorry he was for the injury.
