Hi sheffield wednesday fan here
Coming up to your place on sat for weekend.stopping in Seaton.
where is the best place to go for a pint before the match, seaton or hartllepool town centre ?
Is it far to walk to ground from seaton, or is it a taxi ride.
which pubs for away supporters are good and which ones should we keep out.
All the best
Shoshone

Seaton is a good hour walk, get a taxi for 3 or 4 quid, try Hudsons 01429 860860 or Twenty3 01429 232323.

Depends what you want from a pub.

The Millhouse is full of home fans but very friendly and likeminded away fans more than welcome for a bit of craic.

There's a Wetherspoon's (King John's) about 5 minutes walk from the ground. There are a couple of pubs such as Jackson's Wharf on the marina about 5-10 minutes walk from the ground.

I know you can't run very fast Ripper, but how bloody slow do you walk?!

My sister lives in Seaton and we parked there and walked to the Tall ships, that was about 20-25 mintues walk. Normal folk would get to the Vic in 30 minutes no problem.

Ok, maybe 45 minutes walk from somewhere like The Seaton Hotel, less from The Staincliffe!

This fella might not be a fitness fanatic like you or be a bit older!

I'd still get a taxi if it was a 15 minute walk me like. :uhoh:

There's The Marine about 100 yards from the Seaton Hotel. About 400 yards further on there's one on a new block of stuff but I can't remember its name. After that you've probably got about a mile to the next one, when you get to the bottom of Church Street (where there's loads) and are about 5 or 10 minutes from the ground with a pub every few yards from there on.

i'd take rippers option of a taxi ride into town.

The pubs in seaton will have no atmosphere, and that new place thingy on the way from seaton to town is shit.

Get a taxi and ask him to take you to king johns. Then en route to the ground pop in yates or showrooms, then the mill house

Job done.

Charming.

I'd therefore highly recommend finding The Ward Jackson on Church Square, or any of the other pubs in the vicinity of the railway station, and standing outside with your pint and your Sheff Wed shirt on singing derogatory songs about Hartlepool and the play-off final as a good idea on Saturday afternoon.
