Exactly POK.

Listening to the game on 'Pools Player last night, it sounded very depressing to have to listen to and watch a game that Wigan just totally dominated.

They did just not allow us at all to get into the game last night.

You just could not argue with that free-kick that Wigan scored from.

I can't believe why some people left before the end of the game.

I felt so sorry for the players last night. They tried their hardest, but to no avail.

It was great to hear that they were applauded off the pitch last night.

I've just been on Mk Dons messageboard commenting on the match with Blackpool, I was at the Vic but I thought they might be interested in what I have to say. I read the match report in the Sun whilst I was eating my sarnies at dinnertime today so I think that qualifies me.

Plus I am going to argue with the free kick Wigan scored from, but it wasn't free kick, it was one of a series of shite decisions the ref made all night.

On the ref since when has an elbow been only a yellow card offfence? because I'm sure Ben Watson elbowed Lidds in the head first half sctatchinghead

This is not a go at any one in particular, but I can never work out why people give an opinion on someone else's opinion.

Listening to a commentary on a game your automatically influenced , in my opinion by the person giving the commentary.

You only have to read various peoples opinions who were at the game last night to see how opinions vary.

Got to agree with Fetish Bob. Find it very difficult to stay quiet at times but if you can't get to a match you can't comment on it really. Good result, sounds like...etc are fair enough but you can't slag off officials, particular players or even the work rate of the team of you don't see it for yourself. You can give an opinion on a pattern of results based on opinions you trust but the truth is that if you're usually in Toulouse, Kent or on a sofa in Hartlepool you shpould mostly keep quiet.

ffs surely the commentary mentioned the saves their keeper was having to make, the missed chance by monkhouse, the blatant penalty, and the fact flinders had one save to make in the opening hour ?

how then can someone listening to it come out with this :

"They did just not allow us at all to get into the game last night "

Yeah, by all means, we had chances in the first half, but in the second half we were hardly given the opportunity to go forward much because Wigan were keeping possession well.

Seeing Joe Gamble leave his man behind, run through the heart of their defence, and hit his shot towards the top right corner of the net, was worth the admission money on it's own. Just a shame their keeper managed to stop it, what a goal it would have been!

1. Sorry, I didn't meant to say "watch".
2. I was talking about the goal Wigan scored from the free-kick, not the incident that led to it.

He seemed to burst past three or four out of nothing. We were told he's a holding player he's looked far better so far this season in a more advanced role, I reckon he could score us 5-8 goals over the season as he has a pretty decent strike on him.

It was obvious to me that after a first half- which we dominated, and could easily have been 3-1 up, Martinez instructed his team to play keep ball after the break, as they continuously passed the ball back and forth across the back four, with little or no intention to break forward, in an attempt to run down the clock.
They played every trick in the book to waste time, and the goalie who was booked for time wasting IMO should have been booked 30 mins before that. Such was their intention to keep a lead, and their Manager his job.

He changed the system at half time, second half Rodelega was dropping off, then Moses came on and played a deeper role. First half they had two up front and a man less in midfield. We were playing decent opposition last night but I do worry about our system when we are chasing a game.
