As a lot of people here know, we sold the pub, which just happened to serve the best pint of lager in the South in the shape of Grolsch.
The new owners have kicked the Grolsch out and installed something called "Bel Pils" which is absolute horesepiss. Worse still they've kicked the Bombardier out which was the only decent bitter you can get in France, and they've replaced the draught Guiness by this vibrator gadget which they use to reanimate flat canned Guinness.

Needless to say it's not going to be my local any more!

not bad though i would have Beck's in there

anyone had Duvel? it's apparently a 'strong golden ale' but it's like a strong lager, it tastes lush and at 8.5% it knocks your tits off

and has anyone noticed when you open a bottle of grolsch, you get a smell not dissimilar to fresh marijuana? this is apparently because hops in beer are closely related to dope. they don't get you mashed obviously but they smell similar.

That's because as a Walsall fan you'll have been brought up on Banks, Ansells Mild, and the like.

Confession time: so was I, having been born in Bloxwich and lived in Willenhall until I was 10. Even now, I find I have a taste for Mild that is sadly finding fewer and fewer opportunites to express itself as there's very little decent Mild outside a WM postcode - though Cains Dark Mild (Liverpool Brewery) ain't bad.....

My local serves Highgate bitter and mild at a magnificent 1.35 a pint!

Quality! clappp

Makes up for having nothing of the sort out Orient way, although Beer Laos was a passable alternative.

Can't usually get away with lager, but I have to say that San Miguel, Amstell and Kingfisher are all canny enough to drink

genuine miller draft was nice in Canada, so was Bud Ice and Coors light. the trouble is with pubs etc most of the landlords are beer drinkers so they dont give a toss about lager :uhoh:
