For two reasons I would say that we are probably favourites.

Confidence; Pools is higher than it has been for a while and with CT gone tactics seem to be sensible. Theirs on the other hand must be rock bottom. 2 home defeats 0-4 and 0-6, and the fans on their back already.

Secondly, and probably more importantly. They are in a fight for their PL survival and can probably do without this distraction so I suspect that they will not put out their best 11.

Aren't we forgetting that this stellar encounter with our superiors will be the highlight of our season and, most probably, the highlight of our pointless little lives? Maybe we'll be overwhelmed by the enormity of it all.

I’m consumed by nerves as we speak suck is the enormity is massiveness of our former non league opponents, I don’t think I’ll be even able to attend the match on Tuesday due to vomiting.

I think it'll be a lot tougher than people are making out.

We're on form and winning, they're not. But they're a higher division team and we need to be at the top of our game and for them to have a bit of an off day if we're going to win. Even if they play fringe players those players could be trying their balls off as they know that they have a very good chance of getting into their league lineup given their current form.

Complacency or expectancy from our team or our fans won't be good- it'll be a tough game no mistake.

I think we are getting carried away a bit here.

Wigan have a team way that's too weak for the premiership. So have most other clubs in that league. But our players haven't suddenly got better than theirs. It's going to be a bloody hard task.

Exactly Mr Monty.

Wigan have got to be favourites for the game and if anybody can find me a bookies outside of Hartlepool saying anything different I'll curl a log on our front drive.

But we're done with talking the opposition up around here I reckon. We're Pools, the lads will work their balls off and the crowd will get behind them and then anything could be possible!

The thing with wigan is they look all over the place, they seem tactically awful at the back.

At any level teams will get punished for that.

I've voted Yes.

I wouldn't be surprised if we 'did an Oxford' and scored a few goals against Wigan in midweek.

Come on 'Pools!!!!! rolf rolf

They had Jason Scotland on the bench yesterday.
I'm sure he'd walk into any team in league 1.

Hope so. Feeling really optimistic about the game.
Martinez will be desperate for the win as his job is already on the line.

COME ON POOLS!!! rolf

they looked good 1st half v chelsea, can't see them resting many. Martinez can't afford to lose this one. We have lost our manager (director of foootie) and cheif executive has quit, hardly been ideal preparation 'off the field'. But undefeated (sod the friendlies) thought SKY would have picked this, has 10 times the appeal of Birmingham v Rochdale, who the *&^% picked that one !
