I'm more saddened (seem to be doing a lot of that tonight) by the Russ Green thing. Managers come and go but Russ was a real positive and genuinely friendly guy who did no end of good work behind the scenes.

Russ may have been a good guy BUT he was Chief Exec during the time our attendances have slid to the poor level of under 3k. Over the last week there have been threads about how poor the club were in marketing to the fans, communicating with fans, selling tickets, getting the people in the town behind the club. We have also in the past seen regular poor administration, lack of on-line ticketing, poor season ticket deals etc. All these shortcomings unltimately lie at the door of Russ Green as CEO. He may have been a nice guy but I've never thought of him as the most dynamic or creative individual. I don't know how much lattitude he had or whether Ken took all the decisions but a new broom as CEO could make a considerable impact at the club.

CEO's come and go in the business world on a daily basis, Russ Green's departure should be seen as an opportunity to move things on to a new level.

Thanks for your service, time for some new blood, new ideas, new drive, new initiatives.

Totally agree I mean in an afternoon about 5 of us on her came up with a load of ideas generaly around the idea of bringing the young fans (and their following parents) to the club. We all know what people in this town are like if an event is free or they can get something for nothing, the club need to realise this.

I think although the work Russ did for Pools cannot be questioned in terms of effort maybe the ideas and approach had to change.

Well at least the club will be inundated with people for Russ's job as most people think or thought they could do a better job then him, Ken will have hard job picking the right man. Who's got some good contacts then!!!

Sorry but this is only true in part. Ultimate responsibility rests with KH. Russ had to report to him and check out with him on everything he did/wanted to do. He was never rfeally free just to get on and do his job. I guess that, in part, has a lot do do with his decision to call it a day.
