Apparently, he wants all the money from Milner sale to re-invest in the squad.

You can't blame him, he's got such a good core of young english players at villa, davis, delph, downing, milner, young, agbonlarhor etc

And if it gets broken up, for whatever reason, it's important he gets the money to invest back into the team, if milner goes, you need the money to replace him, simple as.

Totally agree, with that squad and a 20 goal striker (bought usimg the £20m+ from Milner sale),
Villa could easy be in top 4.

The best British manager bar none. All this daft anti stuff is silly. Top four? what, ahead of the poor clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Untd and Man City? He was top six which is as good as it will get for the likes of Villa.

I don't know anything about Lerner, but I've always liked O'Neill, says what he thinks, learnt from his time under Clough, and bugger the consequences.

The bloke is Clough reincarnate, straight talking and falls out with chairmen. He, like Clough, wins things with ordinary players.

To get 20+million for Milner is a great piece of business.
I'm sure they only paid about a third of that to the barcodes.

They paid £12M for Milner, but still good business after only one year.
