An odd move this. He is still an England goalie, possibly No.1 choice by Capello but is he going to get picked dropping down a division?

Portsmouth and Bristol City are both in the same division.

According to the papers only Sunderland and Celtic showed an interest, he probably chose Bristol over them for a couple of reasons, it is probably easier for his family and he said himself that he wanted to carry on playing as much as possible, going to Bristol will mean that he is first choice whereas at Sunderland and Celtic he might only have had the chance to play a handful of games
