Lets just say for instance, IOR decided they wished to no longer put any funds into the club and basically offered to hand the club over, for nothing to a suitable party.

Does anyone think that, like Exeter City, we could form our own trust to take over the running of the club, and if so who would like to be part of that trust.

Of course this is just presuming and is probably never going to happen because as Ken Hodcroft has told us many times IOR are in for the long run.

I like to think we could do this but I'm not convinced we have anywhere enough people with the inclination or enough interest to bother.

Too many people in the town don't care about Pools and apparently half of the people on this board are close to not caring one way or the other anymore either.

I for one would be interested in doing something like this if it came down to it (which hopefully it won't).

You're dead right that people in the town don't care about the club but then at least the running of the club would be done on affordability.
As has been said, we are probably down to at the most 2500 diehards, at least then the club would only employ and pay based on attendance and of course the sums received from the football league.
Obviously Exeter get far higher crowds than Pools, so would have a bit more money to play with but I think its certainly something to think about if the worst came to the worst.

no takeover, no administration, just a club run on the basis of how many it attracts through the turnstile from now on, rather been subbed to the tune of a million a year by a company/bloke a lot of fans have turned on.

as for a trust running the club, yr having a laugh surely ?

if ior pulled out most people in the town would carry on supporting man utd, liverpool, newcastle, sunderland etc.

lets face it theres a few on here claim to be pools fans who have been to 2 or 3 league games since we got promoted under wilson.

theres about 2500 diehards, and the majority of them are either kids or financially on the bones of their arse.

Administration? I cant think of nothing else the present scenario bears a resemblance to. Of course its probably not and its just my wild imagination getting the better of me. (I actually went to bed with Kelly Brook last night and woke up next to our lass) but there you go.
Yeah most people in the town would go on supporting man utd etc.... whats to say attendances at 2500 couldn't run a football club.

As for the ones who have been to 2 or 3 games since wilson got us promoted, surely they don't post on here!!

im not sure what attendances we would get at 18 quid a pop if we were struggling a division lower.
i think we just have to accept that the takeover isnt going to take place, times look like being tough for a bit, and we all need to do our best to rally round.
amen to that brother!

Agreed but always be prepared for the worst.
