what a horrible horrible cnt this bloke is.

He has got away with murder this W/C, but I would happily give my left bollock for a midfielder like him to sign for 'Pools, providing he got away as much in the league

The hysteria over a bit of tackling is sad.

He was at fault for the goal however, if that makes you all feel a little better.

the tackling is one thing, but it's the constant ref baiting and diving that annoys me about van bommell too.

He just looks like a 'lovely lovely person' too.

tackling is fine, its the persistent fouling and lack of class that gets me.

after the game he spent at least 5 minutes screaming at the officials . why f f s ?

the truth is they should have finished the game with 8 men at most, and he himself could and probably should have been one of four dutch players sent off. the best team won, and instead of accepting that like a man and going and shaking the hands of the winning side he blames the officials.

which is exactly whats wrong with the game these days, petulant millionaires like him who want everything now and blaming someone else when they dont get it, rather than accepting they werent good enough.

as for england needing someone like van bommel, what utter nonsense. what we need in midfield are players like alonso, xavi, and iniesta. players that can pass the ball all day and night, retain possession and when needs be open up defences.

the english game has plenty of leaden footed petulant cheats. what it lacks at present is genuine class.

spains disciplinary record in the tournament was exemplary, even a couple of the bookings last night were harsh. they won because they dont need to go round kicking people. primarily because most of the time they had the ball.

Keep the ball, make the other team work

That why Spain won

However I still think England need a ball winner, in the Dean Emerson mode, you don't have to be dirty, just be willing to win the ball and not be scared of the tackle

I would have to disagree there, Cole is a million miles away from the player Gascoine was

Holland got through to the final, in my opinion because of the grit and determination of van bommel, the skill of sneijder and the pace of robben. Players like van persie were just passengers.

if it wasnt for the spanish goalies ankle they would very likely have won the world cup.

players like iniesta, xavi etc would be a dream to have, but I think England would have more chance finding a combination like the dutch had.
