You know how you two were saying that the South Americans were so much better than the Europeans? Did you mean Uruguay or Paraguay? rolfl

Aye I did, and I also said that the Argies would fall to Spain. I'm right, I just mixed the teams up a bit. :)

They were indeed, they've got the same factor that Greece had in the 2004 Euros but more so, no recognised world class players but an incredible and formidable team spirit.

I suspect that this could well go on to be one of the great German sides but I still think that it won't happen in this tournament. I always suspected that the Argies would come unstuck when someone put pressure on them admittedly I never expected it to be Germany. Spain are a wholly different prospect, they've got a defence for a start.

Germany were outstanding yesterday. Even at 3-0 they were still going for it and had a huge desire to score more goals, compare that to England who sat back at 1-0 when playing the Yanks,

I'd be quite happy to see them win the World Cup now as they have been the best team by a country mile, no-one has come remotely close.

I did think of chip when those useless Europeans beat those classy South Americans!

I concur 100%. I too would be happy to see Germany win. They deserve it, if only England would bin all the over-rated "old guard" and rebuild the team with youngsters

Agreed. We should completely bin off those that have never performed for England before and focus on those that have. The likes of Lampard, Gerrard, Terry etc should never be looked at again regardless of how they perform in the Champions League. Instead the team should be built around those who have performed like Joe Cole, Owen Hargreaves and Ashley Cole

the problem with bringing in all the younger ones is that they are nothing but the future overpaid wankers that Lampard, Gerrard et al are now.

could someone please give me the names of any of these bright English 'youngsters' which can be brought in to replace the current lot?

look at the current premier league champions, John Terry and Frank Lampard will be amongst the 1st names on the team sheet for Chelsea every game yet people reckon they should be dumped for England, the alternatives being?

Maybe some of the lads that reached the final* of the 2009 u21 euro championships, like Johnson, Walcott, Gibbs, Wilkshere, Richards,Rodwell, Cattermole? Worth a try surely.
