Like i said on here months ago, eifion can do a job for us at this level and he`s proved it over the last few weeks, i think him and barker could strike up a great partnership, i agree duffy did well when he was here and i think he`s probably the best instinctive finisher ive seen at pools for a while, but for me i think eifion and barker can be just as good if not better than a duffy and barker pairing! barker looks a good signing but to be fare he aint that mobile and i think he needs a partner like eifion to do the running for him, dont think duffys workrate and mobility could match eifions! If it aint broken, dont fix it!

I'm a fan of Effion, BUT He's a striker and has scored how many goals this season...?

I think Duffy would be the finishing touch to the team he'll do the running off Barker and Barker will bury the headers...
With Sweeney, Monkhouse & Browny and possibly Liddle bombing forward and finishing off the dropdowns from Barker or blocked shots from Duffy!

If a player of Duffy's quality is available and wants to come you sign him, its that simple. No matter how well you are playing you don't stand still.

Eifion Williams has been brilliant of late of works his socks off for the team, and has been a great servant to the ckub BUT! He is playing up front and has scored once all season, harsh but true. Duffy scored 5 in 10.

im not saying i wouldnt sign duffy, he looked a good player, i just think barker and eifion can score enough goals to get us automatic promotion this season! Eifions goal record aint bad for a player who has been constantly played out of position and has been dropped and replaced by lesser players than himself,i.e, jon daly!

Seems like the only thing lacking from Effy's game, and has been for a while, is goals. Barkers got one also so you surely aren't working off track record eh??

As we are at the moment, the front two are disrupting opposing defences and the midfield are scoring goals. There's five men in there running riot and defences hate it. I don't think we have to look at the front two to get the goals but it is their main job.

In the present Pools team, we're winning because of the team ethic. Everyone's doing everything and they're invincible. There's no weak links at all, even when established players drop out and squad players come in.

Therefore there's no need to look at individual positions and anyone who came in expecting to be more than a squad player is under an illusion.

This is the genius of Mr Wilson and why it took three months to get it going. It's a totally different mindset. Scarily, this is what he did at Barnsley and look where they ended up.

I presume you're talking about mid-match niggles. I can't ever remember Eiffion being out for any length of time with anything serious.
You could argue that it's Wilson making good use of the bench in order to ensure that that situation continues.

Who was it again who said "players sometimes have to play through injuries" - and what was the effect?

One for us mate - 14 this season, he's about 5th in the top scorers table & how many games has he played for us?

The trouble is, there is no sign of Duffy re-appearing, so this is all speculation that is growing legs and becoming a sort of done deal. I'll get 'excited' when and if it ever happens...
