Sky have announced that they are pulling SSN from freeview. Come on Jeff - time to jump ship and sort out the BBC's limp version of football Saturday.

Read the post Ripper; he says SSN is being taken off FREEVIEW. You can't pay subs (top up tv exempted) on Freeview. And why would you want to for the sake of SSN?

horrible greedy corporate bastards. Makes me even more determined not to pay for tv. Sky and Virgin are middle men - the broadcasting stations get their cash from advertising and stuff, there must be a way to pick up these channels without using the Sky or Virgin "middle man"

It's obviously become that successful that sky think more people will subscribe to their service just to see jeff and co.
They couldn't be more wrong.
Step forward the bbc!!

Pay the subs for Sky Sports and you'll get Sky Sports News.

Sky is shite. I cancelled mine a month ago and don't miss it.
Do you think it's good value for money ?

But I don't want the whole Sky package. I've a job, a wife, a little lad and some semblance of a life; I don't have the time to sit and watch overhyped dross like Wigan v Hull (why else would I have nicked off for so long and rarely post now?). Freeview does for me (I barely watch tele anyway) and I like having SSN. Ho hum.

But just because you have the channel package doesn't mean that you have to spend your time watching it. I've got the full lot of Sky channels, but I probably watch one live game a week at most during the footie season and only watch a film once in a blue moon.

Cannot see this being the incentive people would need for them to buy a subscription to Sky. The news service only needs to be seen a few times a day, and it's only transfer deadline day where anything remotely newsworthy happens. football Saturday is a fantastic show - and I will miss being able to see that - but I'm not paying £40 a month or whatever, especially when it used to be free.

The only other attraction of being able to see a HD version of Sky Sports News is for Charlotte Jackson, Georgie Thompson, Natalie Sawyer & Millie Clode...

And to add insult to injury Sky phoned me yesterday to inform me that I must now pay an extra £5 a month to insure my Sky dish and cables to it . Their greed is just never ending.

You don't HAVE to pay it, they're trying to sell it!

sky = greedy bastads

Hope this helps

fuck them all!! I'll get a freeview box in and that will do me. I'm gonna switch to virgin broadband next month as well when my aol/bt (con)tract expires and I'll end up saving about £25 a month just on that alone!!

I also cancelled my rip off gas service contract today as well, costing me £400 a year!!! I know gas service techs who can undercut that by hundreds, and can get parts and stuff at trade price and do any breakdowns at mate's rates - corporate rip off twats aren't getting any more money out of me. I'd rather give it to self employed lads in any case.

So I'm a mug for not sitting and watching the telly all day every day? sctatchinghead

I know that some people seem to exist to watch telly or play computer games but not everybody does you know.
