for all you betting fellows, I used to work in a bookies in first year at uni and have forgotten what this bet is I know it entails 7(sort of) bets, but was trying to explain it to a mate yesterday while drunk and I cant remember what it is.

I haven't gambled for years but if I recall, wasn't it 11 bets? - 4 horses, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and an accumulator.

I could be thinking of something else.

According to Sky bet...

A Yankee consists of 11 bets involving 4 selections in different events, i.e. 6 doubles, 4 trebles and 1 four-fold. A minimum of 2 of your selections must be successful to get a return.

Anyway today's bet:-

Germany and USA to win 3-1

Add England and get 4-1

And just tried a Yankee... Germany USA Holland & Ghana

I can understand that if you include the USA it could be a Yankee - but if you include Germany why isnt it called a Kraut? or if you include England why isn't it called a miracle?
