Change afoot!

New manager and assistant coming in do we reckon?

Why else would West go? Turner back to old job, or even to be chairman?

Interesting stuff.

got to be something afoot in that case - I have high optimism for change in the manager situation in that case!!! Deffo some mileage in the theory of Turner being lined up to replace Hodcroft in an admin/chairman capacity I think

Could there be something in the fact that CT hasn't signed any new players. So has to let the new manager (I hope) bring in his new signings. -- Just a thought.

they said they would sit down and discuss things at the end of the season and this appears to be the result, or at least part of it. This is looking increasingly like Turner will go back upstairs and we will see a new management team. If so, then this all needs to be sorted for the start of pre-season. Should make for an interesting next few days/weeks!!!

To the Turner haters, how would you feel if the following scenario were true:

Hodcroft himself had enough of the negativity towards himself and IOR
KH/IOR decided to pull their financial support.
Full board meeting, CT is invited to attend and put his case as to keeping the involvement with Pools.

Greater board decide to back CT and propose for him to be operational director with a new manager to take charge of team affairs.

IOR and parent company stay with Pools for no other reason than CT's proposals, plans and presentations.

I throw it up for consideration, no more than that.

if that was true then credit to CT, but I still dont want him picking the team.

What if Barron comes in as assistant and someone else comes in to manage the youths? Anticlimax or what?

I was thinking Barron moving up to the reserves/ first team coach, but he not really got the experience yet ,in my opinion.

I reckon someone new to try and attract a few more fans and build up some sort of optimism amongst them.

The question is who ?????

And will Turner move back upstairs so it a full new management for even more optimism for us fans.

i thought that, but in the Northern Echo Turner is quoted as saying there will be changes which will be announced soon to whet the fans' appetite. I doubt he (or anyone else) would class replacing West with Barron as 'whetting the appetite!!!'

Sounds like it was CT's decision to let him go, so hopefully these changes are for the positive, and we bring a good assistant manager in.

and some good players.

i wouldn't mind somebody like Mick Wadsworth.

but i still think if this is CT's choice of who to bring in then its definately him who'll be staying as manager.

he wouldn't bring an assistant in for a new manager would he.

Graham Turner was the owner/chairman/manager at Hereford for years before he recently sold up. Big difference being he was actually a decent manager with the resources he had available.

Its certainly a weird one. I still think Turner must be moving back upstairs and a whole new management team coming in, not sure why he would get shot of West if he was staying in charge. Or has the jobs for boys mentality just went out the window?

Personally I wouldn't have a problem with that, however the weight of your argument is somewhat diminished by what the last word of your post actually means and which language it is in.

That would do for me as I think them two would have a larger draw to players and have a lot of "mate" who potentially would come to the club.

argument?

sorry, i definitely believe he will be our manager.

lets just hope he's picked a good assistant.

and maybe an announcement of an injection of cash into the club would be quite nice too.

I think I can see where that one is going if that's the case...... Turner attempting to restore some professional pride first before he relinquishes the role. He will only be able to do that with a very good no.2, who may be awarded the job when Turner becomes DOS/ chairman full time. I could live with that provided the results come through - but if they don't I can see Turner repeating this scenario until he eventually gets it right no matter how long that takes. Ooh I'm a right old cynic me, aren't I?

I think he will simply go for a good experienced coach to help motivate the players next season.

and with a bit of money, hopefully we'll sign some good players. Whether they will be 'exciting' or not is another matter.

maybe a new face around the training ground will make a difference. who knows ey.

were has bosco'spost gone about wanting a person to come in and put money into the club?

I though we already had one of them to the tune of £2million a year

sorry compo i must of dleted it by accident ive just realised,

we might have £2 million coming in every year but it probably costs that amount to keep the club running. I was just saying it would be nice to have a bit more money to start developing the club more, and obviously start competing for players. Id imagine were a pretty unfashionable club so when it comes down to even free transfers we'd have to pay big wages to attract the better players up here.

maybe im just being greedy. realistically i suppose we should all be grateful that were not in any serious debt like so many other clubs.

Heard today the reason West got pushed out was that his team won the fans auction game and said to CT in jest the only way to win games is by playing football not hit and run.

If Colin West did indeed say that then respect to him. I doubt it somehow though

Having said that, playing a 'hit and run' style WILL work if you have the right players to play that way. We dont.
