 Post subject: Laptop help please.

Hello all,
I have a toshiba equium laptop with windows 7, which is two years old, problem is when i turn laptop on it wont go any further than when the windows logo comes up starting windows sctatchinghead

Ive tried starting it in safemode and so on, but still the same banghead

hit f8 when you start up, should give you an option to repair your computer.

You should then be able to restore windows and get it up and running. You might need the disc though if there isn't a recovery partition available.

Doesn't give me the option of restoring windows ive also tried the disc, still no joy.


Also its been cutting out seems to get a bit warm.

Where are you using it? make sure you're not blocking the air intake underneath with your knee or something else.

I have one of them laptop cushion thingys. Cant remember the real name for them. :laugh:

Similar thing happened to mine, caused by over heating as I just rested it on my bed instead of on something solid, use it on a tray now.

put it in the fridge for a while to cool down and then check it

Sounds like your windows is corrupted, only way to fix this is to reinstall windows 7

is it a legit copy of windows 7? just with you saying the laptop is 2 yrs old was'nt windows 7 just released last year?

No it was copied from another computer.


Im really desperate now sadx Im using the bairns notepad its to small for my fat fingers :-o

what did you have on it before?try re installing that if it works then it'll be the copy of windows 7 thats fooked

it looks like you have corrupted the boot up if it had been xp i could of told tou what to do i am just getting to know win 7
